She thinks its no big deal but I think its rude. Just recently I invited a friend and her DD6 and DS8 to come to the cinema with me and my 2 DC of similar ages. She was late because of buses so we couldnt all sit together. Our DSs (8 and 9) sat together and she was a row in front of them. I sat with my DD5 on my lap and her DD next to us. I was fine with that but she then started to take the piss. She proceeded to read on her kindle throughout the first half of the film which I think is really rude. Meanwhile her DS was chatting and not watching the film so my DS had to keep shushing him and she could hear but did nothing. He eventually did shut up and start watching. Then half way through her DS gets bored (because he hasnt been following the plot!) and asks to leave. She says OK and leaves me with her DD and my DS is now on his own. I gestured to him and he was OK so I left him to enjoy the film in peace. She still hadnt left by then, she stood in the aisle blocking several people's view waiting for her DS to get hus stuff together. They complained to her and she gave them a mouthful. Then after another half hour her DD wants leave and I say no because we are watchkng the film. She sulks but manages not to spoil it for me and my DD. AIBU or were they just having a bad day!
