To think that Pampers are utterly shit?

I usually use Lidl disposables on DS, which are the best- no leaks and dirt cheap.
On the very rare occasion that I am caught out and have had to buy Pampers I have had to deal with wet pyjamas most mornings and even the smallest poos end up in a blow out. I seriously considered throwing his pjs away today such was the extent of the damage.
When DD was a baby I was thrilled when she was big enough to fit into her cloth nappies as it was so much easier to clean those than get the poo stains out of her clothes from the bloody useless Pampers. I didn't realise back then that it was only stupid crap Pampers that failed like this.
How can they charge so much for what are IMO the worst nappies on the market?

I gave up on Pampers after DS had numerous leg-leaks overnight and their Active Fit are beyond a joke for leaks everywhere. I buy Sainsburys Little Ones and go up half a size for the overnight nappy and I used to buy the huge box containing a month load from Kiddicare before they shut their shops down.

I never had a problem with pampers but huggies were always dreadful and used to leak.

I think it depends on the child. Pampers were the only nappy that didn't leak for DD. Tried other brands and we had leaks and blow outs everywhere! DS, on the other hand, can wear anything and we pretty much never get a leak.

Pampers are the only nappy that doesn't make dd red raw

I reckon it depends on your child's bum shape. We had a lot of trouble with leaks across all brands for DD1, DS and DD2 have generally been okay with anything as long as the size is right.

Tesco and Sainsbury do value nappies, £1.40 for 20 (size 4/5) that I adore. Perfectly good nappies and very cheap!

I've found Pampers to be excellent for both DCs so it must be down to the shape of the child.

I find pampers utter shit and they're small sizing too.

Sainsburys own brand are the best I've found and I've tried them all.

Just depends on your baby's shape... For DD, who was very slender, Huggies were great, I was surprised to see how much stick they got before they disappeared from the shelves. DS only seems to have leakage when he's close to growing out of a size, and wears whatever, Sbury's, Pampers, Aldi, depending on where we've shopped and what was on offer. Pampers only worth buying on offer.

I have up with pampers too. used aldi on dd1 as we're just cheaper no better and no worse than pampers but just cheaper.

but then aldi did do something to their nappies which made turn. smell really chemically and left dd2 red raw. as did pampers. so we found sainsbury nappies which worked wonderfully. and dd2 still has them.at night with no leaks.

Pampers leaked here all the time. I prefer the lidl ones too.

I totally get that its to do with the child and their shape, but pampers always resulted in leaks with my DS. Tesco loves baby were rock solid and much cheaper.

So why would I pay extra for their marketing BS?

I think it depends on the kids - we generally use the cheap orange box pampers and have never had a problem.

We tried Asda, and Huggies, and neither were any good (thick, stiff, and uncomfortable for kid). The Tescos ones were OK, but no cheaper than the orange pampers, and a bit thicker.

You've just got to try out various ones until you find the ones that are the right shape for your child.

Pampers are the only nappies that give DD an awful red raw bum. All the others are fine, and half the price.

I think they're exactly the same as all the other nappies, you have to find the ones that suit your DC. But there certainly isn't anything special enough about them to justify the price! I feel for the families that find they're the best fit, the amount of extra money they must spend. A couple pounds every week or so adds up.

My dd has always been long and lean - pampers did bit work for us we had lots of leaking. Morrisons and Sainsburys ones have been great though.

I agree with the comments about the supermarket brands. Sainsburys and Tesco brands were always my go to- until I discovered Lidl that is and their triple chocolate cookies which I can pick up at the same time

I think every baby is different and how well certain nappies fit their bodies.

Pampers have been the only nappy my DC has not regularly leaked from.

For my DC, Huggies were atrocious, Aldi were ok upto size 3 then leaked most poos, asda and tesco used to come loose after a lot of wriggling/crawling. Pampers have been consistently good, with only the worst huge runny poos leaking occasionally when I don't think any nappy could have held it in. I find Pampers Active fit are the best once they are crawling and walking as they are stretchy and allow more flexibility.

If you look at the weight ranges, I think being in the lower end of the weight range in a larger nappy is better than say being in the top end of the weight range in a smaller nappy, if you see what I mean? Could that be an option you could try?

I think Pampers are shite and only ever used them on a brand new baby. I think they leak terribly as the absorbant core doesn't stretch back far enough. I like Aldi nappies, never have a problem with them.

Never had a leak with pampers in 18 months. She has leaked in sainsburys, asda and Lidl nappies though.

I never had a problem with Pampers. Gave up on Huggies though, they were awful and leaked. I agree that different brands will suit different babies though, my friend used Huggies at the same time for her baby and they were fine.

I loved pampers for dd1 and ds1 they were the best nappies I tried for them. They were okay for dd2 at first but then they changed the design to have 'less bulk' which translated into 'needs changing after every tiny wee' when they'd been fine literally the week before.

I switched to huggies until dd2 was out of nappies and until they were discontinued for ds2. Now I use sainsburys own nappies and they're brilliant, don't leak, aren't too bulky but don't need changing after five minutes.

I got caught out on a day out and had to buy pampers and they were rubbish, needed changing every two minutes and the outside felt really greasy when I changed him for the third time in half an hour.
