To eat the childrens chocolate & request family don't buy it for them

I mean it's the end of May for goodness sake. We still have two Lindt easter bunnies, a chocolate lamb & a chicken in. They had an egg each & they ate the chocolate bars inside but the egg itself was shared out. They did enjoy the huge box of m & ms out & made cookies & put them in yoghurt.

Ds just asks for sweets & lollies instead & dd prefers packs of dried fruit & sweets.

I ended up throwing a chocolate Santa away.

So shall I just dig in. They won't even notice

Eat away. I've been ploughing through the Easter chocolate for weeks, the DCs haven't even noticed. The fact that the button on my (new, lovely, usual sized) jeans pinged off and shot the dog in the arse last week has shown me that perhaps I need to stop. I probably won't, though. Not til It's gone.

Just make a chocolate cake for everyone.

Am amazed you haven't scoffed it by now! My dd is one of those that keeps Easter eggs for months too.....strange!!

I don't think it's strange at all.

As long as it's stored properly and doesn't go past its use by date, it's pretty sensible to keep them for months and only eat some when she fancies it.

If I find it's taking up too much space in the fridge/cupboard, I suggest either me or the kids make it all into a family cake to get rid of it.

Go for it! My toddler gets loads of chocolate for Xmas/Easter/Birthdays etc, like an excessive amount for a not even 3 year old. She does like chocolate but I don't like to give her too much of it, everything in moderation. Me and oh shamelessly end up eating a lot of it and she never notices. It would end up sitting in the cupboard for months and melting/going off otherwise. I know people mean well and it's great that they want to give her gifts but I kind of wish people wouldn't buy her chocolate tbh. My experience has lead me to avoid buying small children chocolate as gifts in the future, I would rather spend the money on something I know the child will get some use out of.

Yeah definitely eat it, but telling others not to buy any more would be a foolish and rash step possibly leading to no further stockpiles.

My younger son hates chocolate but still gets given eggs etc. It is my duty as a mother to eat them on his behalf, tho I do bung him £5 to make up for it.

Eat it if they really won't notice! DD (2.11) still has Easter eggs left, and I finally tucked in to one a few days ago. She rumbled me straight away when she got up in the morning I'm not ashamed to say I feigned ignorance - 'no DD there isn't one missing'

You have a moral duty to eat all spare chocolate. I haven't had any since Thursday and I'm having withdrawals.

Eat it. Or melt it down for Rice Krispie cakes. We did it with DS and it was really lovely. Even put whole malteasers and chunks of twix in there.

I ate my dcs eggs. They had 3 each and 2 big chocolate bunnies. The 2 smallest don't even like chocolate! The older ones ate the little ones bunnies as well as theirs and 2 of their own eggs. Me and dh ate the rest

Halloween and Easter collections are subject to the Parent Tax. Have you not been claiming full deductions? Also I hardly ever buy DC sweets and chocolates as we get so much from outside sources, but Grannie spends about two weeks buying and planning their Easter egg hunt which they all love. She does include toys and books as well though .

Absolutely, go for it... We have been asking for no chocolate for our two, they still seem to end up with bucketloads.

I have a few tabs open and was rather shocked when I saw "to eat the child" as one of the tabs! Whole title makes a lot more sense!
