In the sing they are "hanging on a wall".

Dh will persist in singing tunelessly " sitting on the wall" which is all kinds of wrong.

Aibu?

I was all sympathetic Wendy until I read that crazy scone post.

Nope it's sitting (and scone as in gone!)

littlehouseinthebigwoods · 21/05/2015 22:09

When I first read this I was positive it's sitting on a wall, but now as time passes I become less certain..

The world as I know it is crumbling around me!

Amummyatlast · 21/05/2015 22:10

No it's hanging and scone as in cone (Yorkshire lass here).

Curlygirly · 21/05/2015 22:10

I say sitting. Dh insists it's hanging but can't explain how 10 bottles can just hang on a wall. Idiot. Grin

littlehouseinthebigwoods · 21/05/2015 22:10

Google seems as uncertain as I am...

cleanmyhouse · 21/05/2015 22:10

hanging. Always hanging.

Scone rhymes with on

Stopandlook · 21/05/2015 22:11

I think I sing hanging. I should know as this is my song that I sing to de-stress when the kids are trying to kill each other....

OrlandoWoolf · 21/05/2015 22:12

How can they sit?

Do they have legs?

Pipbin · 21/05/2015 22:14

It's hanging.

MidnightDinosaur · 21/05/2015 22:17

Sitting, definitely sitting.

And Scone rhymes with cone

SurlyCue · 21/05/2015 22:17

"How can they sit?

Do they have legs?"

On their bottoms. do you sit on your legs? Legs would be for the bottles that wanted to stand.

MidnightDinosaur · 21/05/2015 22:18

And it's cream first then jam.

enterthedragon · 21/05/2015 22:18

Standing
bottles don't sit
How do you hang bottles on a wall

FeelingSmurfy · 21/05/2015 22:18

Hanging...but until this thread I never thought about how odd it was, its not even "hanging from the wall" its on a wall, how can you hang on something?

MidnightDinosaur · 21/05/2015 22:20

Bottles can't stand, they don't have legs.

They do have bottoms so they are sitting on the wall

hobNong · 21/05/2015 22:20

Hanging

hobNong · 21/05/2015 22:21

Maybe it's short for hanging out. Or maybe the bottles are all hungover. That's why they all accidentally fall.

Pipbin · 21/05/2015 22:22

how can you hang on something?

You hang pictures on a wall do you not?

iklboo · 21/05/2015 22:24

They have necks. You can hang by the neck.......

knittedslippersx2 · 21/05/2015 22:27

SITTING!

SurlyCue · 21/05/2015 22:27

So are they hanging by strings round their necks? Or is it one string holding them all? If they are hanging wouldnt they drop rather than fall?

Neffi · 21/05/2015 22:27

Hanging. Scone rhymes with gone. Butter then jam then cream.

ErrolTheDragon · 21/05/2015 22:29

Either hanging or standing but certainly not sitting. That would be ridiculous.

For the proof that 'scone' does not rhyme with 'stone'I refer you to
How to Get On in Society, attention to which may save you from a variety of faux pas. Grin

NobodyLivesHere · 21/05/2015 22:30

You hang pictures on a wall.

It's hanging. And gone.
