Over 200 begging letters in a month from charities and frequent cold callers asking for money.

It's horrific. I know how persuasive they can be, there ought to be a way to opt out of receiving charity calls and letters.

The signs don't have any weight, but charities are exempt from no cold calling zones which do have weight in law.

door to door direct debit solicitation should really come under the same licensing controls as door to door collections of cash, as at least then the council could control it.

That's how I understand too Sparky. We are saying the same thing. Smile

I really think that there should be some legal weight given to the 'No cold caller' signs that people have on their doors.

The Conservatives have made a lot of noise about being on recipients' side against cold calling of any kind. I'd recommend anyone to lobby their Tory MP or the new Business Secretary about this.

MSF may not contact you directly, but they do use direct response television, which is the least cost effective method of fundraising. And it costs a lot.

Hang on why are chuggers excluded from cold calling zones!!

I've seen about 3 MSF ads in my life. Compared to 3 CRUK ads a day.
