Its there for a reason.

Its 3 days post election, sick of seeing it all over chat and AIBU now. Please use the political folder, pretty please?

I'm sure MNHQ would move them if they felt that the threads and posts r ere inappropriate.

derxa · 10/05/2015 16:02

At the moment the Election is still of high interest and should not not be sidelined to a specialist folder. That's most polite way I can respond to your post.

manicinsomniac · 10/05/2015 16:06

YABU

The election and its fall out is huge. And fascinating. I could read and talk about it all day.

Something dull and predictable like Christmas takes over AIBU and chat every year. This is only once every 5 years and infinitely more interesting and important.

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 10/05/2015 16:07

but its not, its just the same bollocks being posted over and over again in different ways.

It may not matter to you, but it is of massive importance to others.

I am still in denial. I guess you are already in acceptance.

drudgetrudy · 10/05/2015 16:09

Don't open the threads if you aren't interested.

LineRunner · 10/05/2015 16:09

Sorry other people's lives and thoughts are 'bollocks' to you.

FourEyesGood · 10/05/2015 16:09

YABU, for reasons stated by PPs.

Also, there are often style/beauty-related threads in AIBU, or threads about children's health, etc. - and people don't say that they should be in a different topic.

OrlandoWoolf · 10/05/2015 16:10

The politics section is hard to find and probably for hardcore regulars.

An election that has just happened and has divided the country will be discussed.

its just the same bollocks being posted over and over again in different way

So pretty much most of MN anyway Grin

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 10/05/2015 16:12

I have a million election threads hidden.

ilovesooty · 10/05/2015 16:13

Just hide the threads if discussion of events of national importance bores you.

WD41 · 10/05/2015 16:58

I'm sick of seeing threads complaining about election threads.

It was only a couple of days ago. And, you know, quite important.

If you're not interested, fine, don't open the threads. But please accept that for a lot of people it's pretty much all they can think about right now.

TwoAndTwoEqualsChaos · 10/05/2015 17:05

I'm with Derxa but, perhaps, they ought to limit how many anti-Tory ones there are, so there is a bit more balance ...

LineRunner · 10/05/2015 18:18

The Tories won. I think they can cope with the pain of victory.

SenecaFalls · 10/05/2015 18:24

I'm a political junkie and also an American so I really enjoy all the different threads and have learned a lot.

I have Christmas hidden but still have to put up with see all sorts of boring Christmas threads during the festive season in Chat and AIBU. That's what the hide-a-thread button is for, OP.

PeachyPants · 10/05/2015 18:26

It's been a bit full on lately but that's to be expected after a shock election result, just don't open the threads.

Mintyy · 10/05/2015 19:38

ilovesooty hq don't move anything at all unless it is reported and you make a compelling case for moving stuff out of aibu.

Aibu is the most over-used and most inappropriately used topic on Mn.

Trills · 10/05/2015 19:42

Since you are so keen on tidy topic usage, shouldn't THIS be in the Site Stuff topic?

ilovesooty · 10/05/2015 19:47

Mintyy I was just trying to formulate a polite response to the OP Grin
