I want to put it in terms he understands. Seems like a good analogy to me.

Oh, yes. Sad thought.

Morelikeguidelines · 08/05/2015 23:03

Ken Clark as Slughorn is perfect.

The election also reminded me of a Simpsons episode where the Republicans are shown with banners saying "We're just plain evil". The Democrats have banners saying "We can't govern" (included in the post for balance).

Morelikeguidelines · 08/05/2015 23:06

I think Nicola Sturgeon is a younger McGonagal.

Newlywed2013 · 08/05/2015 23:07

Who would Borris be?

BertieBotts · 08/05/2015 23:07

Grin Stoops

JeanneDeMontbaston · 08/05/2015 23:07

Lockhart.

HoneyDragon · 09/05/2015 00:09

No, as soon as I read this I decided Lockhart was Heseltine Grin

starwarslegoboy · 09/05/2015 00:12

Surely Ed Miliband is Neville? Geeky, awkward and not comfortable with himself but at heart, a great guy

Harriett Harman is Hermione - too clever for her own good apparently

David Miliband is the handsome popular fucker who gets killed after the Games in book 4

Jim Murphy def looks like Lord Voldemort

twitter.com/gussteedman/status/527945276238344192

J K Rowling tweeted today that Jim Murphy was a Gyffindor, due to his performance. But then she lives next door to Alastair Darling

Tanith · 09/05/2015 00:24

Thankfully indeed, Caydee! I reckon Esther is more of a Pansy Parkinson, maybe?

wigglylines · 09/05/2015 20:54

Tanith your post is still making me chuckle. It's been the local results here today and I kept getting the vision of all the councillors in the polling station with loads of people with their fingers on them.

Grin

Ah, real Mumsnet people! Here you are.

The rest of this place has been taken over by so much frothing it's like a foam party.

Russell Brand is Xenophilius Lovegood has me in stitches, perfecto. :o

meercat23 · 09/05/2015 21:16

This thread has cheered me up no end. Thank you all Smile

RaptorInaPorkPieHat · 09/05/2015 21:40

So if Thatcher is Voldemort, then Cameron must be Quirrell.

I love the idea of Ed Miliband as Neville Grin

TwosaCrowd · 09/05/2015 21:40

Brilliant! But who would be Lord V? Rupert Murdoch?

Tanith · 09/05/2015 21:57

Glad to add some cheer, wiggly!

Our MP is Jeremy Hunt - wonder what he'd think of our new style of ballot? Grin

VoldemortsNipple · 09/05/2015 22:34

If Thatcher is Voldemort, I need a name change. I refuse to be connected to any part of that witch Grin although you know that Horcrux that was under the seat in Kings Cross, that could definitely have been Thatcher.

wanderings · 10/05/2015 06:45

Cameron: my first thought was Slughorn ("Look at all these famous people I went to Eton with!"), but then realised Cameron would rather wield the power himself, unlike Slughorn who "prefers the back seat - more room to spread out, you see".

As for Bliar - Lucius Malfoy. Slimy bastard. "I'll make this simple... tell me the weapons of mass destruction are there even though I know they're not , or watch your friends die."

Gryffindor: a up-and-coming party who is too nice for the corrupt realities of power. Or I suppose they could be the royal family - nice but powerless. Long live her majesty Queen Minerva McGonagall.

Hermione - a more eloquent Bob Crow?

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 10/05/2015 06:53

Fantastic thread, thank you!!

wanderings · 10/05/2015 06:54

As for Rupert Murdoch - we never do meet the chief of the Daily Prophet, do we? Rita Skeeter is the nearest we get.

Richard Branson (and possibly Bill Gates) - Fred and George.
