I want to put it in terms he understands. Seems like a good analogy to me.

Hermione on the other hand would be very political surely?

VoldemortsNipple · 08/05/2015 22:16

to quote Hermione, she said she would never work in the MOM, as she planned to do some good in the world. (not an exact quote, but the conversation with the Minister of Magic at the reading of Dumbledore's will was along those line Wink)

glittertits · 08/05/2015 22:24

Hermione went back on her word though, and took a job in the MOM Department of Magical Law Enforcement.

glittertits · 08/05/2015 22:25

Though evidently, under a regime she approved of.

CadieAgain · 08/05/2015 22:28

MintChocAddict your description is chillingly appropriate. Yes to Chief Dementor.

to tell 6 yo DS that Slytherin won the election
stoopstoconker · 08/05/2015 22:29

Russell Brand is Xenophilius Lovegood.

VoldemortsNipple · 08/05/2015 22:35

glittertits Ahh well Magical Law Enforcement sounds more like the civil service than government (although just as corrupt) Maybe the magical green party had gained power Wink

SuffolkNWhat · 08/05/2015 22:38

Crabbe = Gove

Goyle = Hunt

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 08/05/2015 22:40

Natalie Bennett is Luna Grin
Gordon Brown was a bit Cornelius Fudge, wasn't he?

SuffolkNWhat · 08/05/2015 22:40

Nadine Doris as Umbridge

MoominKoalaAndMiniMoom · 08/05/2015 22:40

Gove is Umbridge. Obvs.

Morelikeguidelines · 08/05/2015 22:41

I think George Osbourne is Lucius Malfoy. He isn't Snape as Snape is lovely. Grin

Can Chris Grayling be Bartemius (spelling?) Crouch? Sending people to prison without trial will surely be next.

glittertits · 08/05/2015 22:42

I think the only conclusion we can draw from this discussion is that we are both wayyyy too invested in this VoldemortsNipple Grin

JeanneDeMontbaston · 08/05/2015 22:47

This has really cheered me up.

Thank you, you lovely people. Thanks

I can't think of anyone unpleasant enough in JRK's writing to be George Galloway, though.

PHANTOMnamechanger · 08/05/2015 22:47

hahaha love this thread!

JeanneDeMontbaston · 08/05/2015 22:48

Ooh! - But, Ken Clarke as Slughorn. Fundamentally not that evil, but completely impossible for anyone to get rid of, and has fingers in every pie.

I grew up in his constituency. Hmm

Tanith · 08/05/2015 22:48

Katie Hopkins = Bellatrix?

JeanneDeMontbaston · 08/05/2015 22:50

Perfect, tanith.

Now we just need a Molly Weasley.

Caydee · 08/05/2015 22:53

Bellatrix = Esther McVey. Thankfully killed off.

VoldemortsNipple · 08/05/2015 22:55

Grin the most important question should be, I wonder if Cameron is looking forward to his second visit from the Minister of Magic tonight Grin

Tanith · 08/05/2015 22:55

Really hard to explain it all to young kids. I tried it with my 5 year old:

"You know when I let you all choose a Dvd?"
"Yes,"
"We choose a selection and you all put your finger on the one you want?"
"Yes"
"And the dvd with the most fingers on it wins?"
"Yes,"

"That's an election."

She looked a bit confused when she went into the polling station, mind. I think she expected to see all the candidates standing there, waiting to be pawed Grin

StellaAlpina · 08/05/2015 22:55

Leanne Wood maybe? I can imagine her giving sage advice over tea and cake :)

Who could Caroline Lucas be? Young Hermione maybe?

BitOfFun · 08/05/2015 22:58

I think Mo Mowlam was Molly Weasley.

wigglylines · 08/05/2015 23:00

Tanith another that's a great picture Grin

wigglylines · 08/05/2015 23:02

I wish Mo Mowlem was still here. We need her.
