To thing saying "well if you chose to buy a house near the Green"

can be so fucking annoying.
Yes I expected to see kids playing out there during the day, and during Summer on into the late evening . But never realised I'd also be expected to put up with games of football still going on at 10.30 accompanied by shouting and swearing; gangs of bored teenagers hanging around in the small hours of the morning drinking and laughing at top volume; or kids assuming that all areas in the vague vicinity of the green are communal playgrounds for their pleasure and fun, often encouraged by their parents.

AIBU to swear that when I move it will be well away from a Green.

YANBU. I used to live near a communal green and this attitude really pissed me off. Just because you live beside it doesn't mean you should have to put up with a level of noise and intrusion that other neighbours simply wouldn't accept outside their houses.

Kids playing fine. Football and gangs of teenagers late at night, not fine.
