Just looking at the Exit polls. Should Scotland be cut loose if SNP get that result? Should the DUP be worried? An opportunity for PU? The question is: is the Union dead??

i hope so.

I'd happily see an end to the Union once Faslane is relocated in English waters.

Doingakatereddy · 07/05/2015 23:03

Trident relocated, sorry! Bf'ing & one handed type fail Blush

Yep I agree.
Dublin would take back NI, Sinn Fein poll quite well ATM.
Plaid Cymru - up to them. Ultimately they know what side their bread is buttered.
Scotland, well, they've obviously decided that SNP is for them. So off with you, have your independence, but don't expect any funding from Westminster. Wonder what will happen there??!!??
Fair??

What will happen is we would be ok. We pay in more than we get back out in funding so who loses out if we are independent? We are not funded by Westminster we pay tax and we get a budget back of much less than we actually hand over.

livingzuid · 08/05/2015 00:46

fluffyears that's a load of rubbish and that point has been disproven time and time again.

YABU. Even though I don't understand why anyone would vote snp, I know many were a no vote in the referendum but still voted snp in the election. Although to be fair they, like everyone else, are voting for a party they believe will represent their interests best. It just remains to be seen how well the snp will perform in Westminster.

GingerLDN · 08/05/2015 09:59

I care about the Union. And never voted SNP.

DrivenRoundTheBend · 08/05/2015 10:10

I voted SNP and I also voted for independence, I care about how the Union is run whilst we remain part of it. I don't care to keep it together but in September I was clearly in the minority.

DrivenRoundTheBend · 08/05/2015 10:17

And for the record. Westminster can't "cut Scotland loose" if Scotland ever do leave the Union it will be because the people of Scotland (or majority) want to leave the Union.

It was Scotlands choice and hopefully will be again one day. Can only hope the voting is in the other direction if that chances is available again.
