Ex Lib-Dem voter and I will probably be voting Green even though they haven't a hope in hell of getting in where I live. There are no parties that represent me 100% and I feel like the Greens are offering a lot of fresh polices (as well as quite a few crazy ones) but I am ready for change.

2 conservative votes here.

sherbetlemonD · 06/05/2015 16:26

Apparantly our local UKIP MP has been scratched for being involved in racist propaganda online. Blush

ElectraCute · 06/05/2015 16:26

Am not quite sure what you mean by screwed up on multiculturalism - could you expand on that?

Yes, Iraq was a fucking disaster. Are you saying that the Tories would've kept out of it? Ed helped stop us going into Syria, iirc. And he is not Tony Blair.

And again, what would the Tories have done differently - let the banks go to the wall? You think? I don't agree with bailing out the bankers let em rot by do you seriously reckon Dave and Gideon would have done a damn thing differently? If so, what?

dotdotdotmustdash · 06/05/2015 16:27

3 SNP votes from my house and another 2 from my inlaws. My own parents will have voted Tory or Libdem but won't admit it.

addstudentdinners2 · 06/05/2015 16:27

How exactly did Labour 'screw up multiculturalism'. Please explain.

GandalfsOtherHat · 06/05/2015 16:28

Tory all the way in this household, there really is no other choice.

harryhausen · 06/05/2015 16:30

I've only decided today and it's Lib-Dem.

I voted for them last time and was disappointed to find them in a coalition with the Tories, but I feel they haven't done too bad a job with limited power.

My decision is hugely based on local candidates. Our once safe Labour seat is becoming marginal and the only party snapping at their heels are Lib Dem - plus the Lib Dem candidate is a local and really knows the area.

fiveacres · 06/05/2015 16:31

I've actually spent some time today looking at different political parties and their websites.

I agree with all of them! Grin

easily swayed

Withershins · 06/05/2015 16:31

I am seriously undecided still. I am in a very safe Tory ward (Bullingdon Club candidate/previous MP ), not one party has even bothered to canvass here such is the belief I guess that the status quo will remain.
I had a bit of a chat with Boris on Saturday, seems like a nice enough guy, but he is standing in a neighbouring ward anyway, even if I could bring myself to vote Tory.
If the Lib Dems replaced Nick Clegg, and brought back Charles Kennedy they may well get my vote in the future.

Seriously considering spoiling my ballot Blush

pippydoo · 06/05/2015 16:32

conservative here . dh abstaining .

first time voting conservative. last election lib dem and before that labour always. funny how it's changed.

dogandcat · 06/05/2015 16:32

2 Conservative votes here.

They are the only ones I trust with the economy - Ed Balls has been proved wrong on just about every prediction he made about the economy in the last 5 years. When you look at the economic mess in Europe compared to the UK, which is by no means perfect, I feel I want to give them 5 more years to complete the job. I hope it is another Tory/Lib Dem coalition to prevent any lurch to the right.

I would also like a referendum on Europe - even if we stay in, I would like a chance to have my say.

TheFillyjonk · 06/05/2015 16:32

I will be spoiling my ballot. I still want my vote to count, but I don't believe a word of what any of the parties say.

caravanstar79 · 06/05/2015 16:33

Plaid Cymru. Labour been taking Wales for granted for far too long and really no longer deserve it. Plaid progressive and are anti-fracking and very hand on and active here, which I respect greatly. If I was in Scotland I'd vote SNP, and if I was in England I'd vote Green. Would love to see a Plaid/SNP/Green coalition. Sick to back to teeth of media only really getting behind 'main parties' as they put it. They are perpetuating the idea that these are 'the main parties' which is giving them unfair advantage. A lot of people vote a certain way because their family have always done so I think, and don't do their homework.

OnlyLovers · 06/05/2015 16:35

A referendum on Europe is one of the scariest things about the prospect of continued Tory government, for me.

Back in 2007 George Osborne said the Tories would match Labour's spending. Funny how they've changed their tune now.

SugarPlumTree · 06/05/2015 16:38

I don't know. I am in a marginal so have to decide if I am voting tactically or not.

peggyundercrackers · 06/05/2015 16:41

Withershins we are in the same boat as you - not 1 MP has canvassed us here. I haven't seen any walking about locally and speaking to people, I haven't seen anything in the local news about them either. maybe they are all laying low trying to hide? or maybe they are all off sucking up to the leaders of their respective parties... after all whats more important? the electorate or their boss...

irretating · 06/05/2015 16:41

Green, it's a vote swap with somebody who lives in a Labour/Conservative marginal.

I'm not sure the country can survive 5 more years of Conservatis, already the NHS is slipping back to the underfunded mess it was in the mid 90's. The Tories economic plans have been terrible for the country, more debt, stagnation in wages yet a doubling of wealth amongst the richest. I live in a very Labour safe seat, so I'm happy to 'transfer' my vote where it'll be most use.

Frecklefeatures · 06/05/2015 16:42

Both SNP here.

MagicMojito · 06/05/2015 16:42

Labour here. Im glad dh "can't be arsed" though as it would more than likely be a UKIP vote SadHmm

peggyundercrackers · 06/05/2015 16:43

onlylovers - an EU referendum is anything but scary - we survived without the EU for how many years? we don't need the EU to survive and we certainly don't need it for some of the other things forced upon us from them.

grovel · 06/05/2015 16:43

There are a couple of things I want sorted for my son's generation.

The economy. I don't want his contemporaries lumbered with my generation's debt any more than it has to be.

Europe. Let's have a referendum and then either get out or engage properly. I would almost certainly vote for the latter but we need to lance the boil.

So....undecided. But I will vote for the "least worst" and will be holding my nose as I do so - for whichever party.

browneyedgirl86 · 06/05/2015 16:44

Haven't decided yet. But will not be voting Snp. Possibly Conservative.

dogandcat · 06/05/2015 16:44

OnlyLovers - why is a referendum scary? Tories try and negotiate better terms for the UK (my prediction - they fail), they let us decide what to do. Tories and Labour and LD all support staying in Europe (UKIP only ones who want out), but at least, we, the people, have our say, instead of being dictated to by the Westminster Village. I think the chances of us leaving Europe are small but it is the threat of a referendum and the potential that the people may vote to leave Europe that gives Cameron his angle in negotiations. I for one would like to look at the pros and cons of being part of Europe.

toobreathless · 06/05/2015 16:45

Conservative x 2

Mainly because we are in a UKIP stronghold and they are the only other realistic option.

I would vote tactically for any other real challenger to those bastards.

CattyCatCat · 06/05/2015 16:47

Labour.
