To be annoyed by '...'

It's massively over used! It bugs me.

I just received an email and it was in the subject line - unnecessarily.

Then the ought out the email there were no full stops to finish a sentence. Each sentence and each paragraph was finished with '...'

It has pissed me off I may be slightly pissed off by the stupid fucking email of course I feel the '...' Is often used in a incredibly passive aggressive way. Just bugs me.

end rant

Yes! Yes to The Stupid Use Of Capitals For Every Word!!

And what's with things like looool
Randomly adding extra ooo's.
I thought it was 'laugh out loud' is it now laugh out out out out loud???

Brought instead of bought.

I've just spotted an autocorrect in my original post and even that is bugging me now!

YANBU OP... I know someone who... uses it after every sentence ...

Gives me the rage.

Bunnyjo · 04/05/2015 23:01

My pet hate is overuse of exclamation marks and question marks - particularly when people overuse them in interrobangs (?!?!?!)

Ellipses have their place; however, as with exclamation marks and question marks, they are often overused.

Bunnyjo · 04/05/2015 23:06

I see that OP is selective about her grammatical pet hates with her own overuse of exclamation marks and punctuation marks ...

SirChenjin · 04/05/2015 23:09

Shouldn't that be the OP? Wink

StellaAlpina · 04/05/2015 23:09

Discuss makes want to post like this:

Smith asserts that...
Additionally, Jones states that...
However, Thompson posits that...
In conclusion...

(I have no problems with ellipses though, or brackets) Grin

Coumarin · 04/05/2015 23:14

Mmm...I quite like it...

??? Gets on my tits personally. Grin

LittleMissRayofHope · 04/05/2015 23:17

Yep. Totally selective and not a shit could I give!! Grin

Spelling errors, commas, over use of fullstops, weird capitals and randomly added ooo's is mostly what does it.

Over used !!! And ??? seemingly are fine. Funny how I never noticed that.
Ha. Bet I've got buddies who sit looking at my posts/messages thinking 'one fucking ! Will do littleMiss' Grin

Hmmm... Yabu. I love the traily dotty things. And creepy wee brackets.

....awaits flaming.

Bunnyjo · 04/05/2015 23:27

Indeed, SirChenjin! It should have been the OP and other punctuation marks. Alas, I am procrastinating, by mumsnetting instead of completing my essay on 'CyRPA, its role in Plasmodium falciparum merozoite erythrocyte invasion and its status as a potential vaccine target.' Hopefully, I am making errors here and not in my essay...

intended use of ellipsis

dougierose · 04/05/2015 23:28

...

Biscuit
Carpinteria · 04/05/2015 23:31

I quite like it.

It symbolises me looking off into the middle distance.

...

SirChenjin · 04/05/2015 23:32

Sorry...I think I might have nodded off at 'CyRPA'....Good luck with that, it sounds utterly, um, what's the word....??

TheFirstOfHerName · 05/05/2015 15:12

Oh wait, my keyboard doesn't have the new one...
