To be offended by the use of this word in many threads?

I am new to MN and tbh I am shocked by the regular use of the C word in many threads, using it as a term of abuse for (very often) men who have behaved appalingly towards their partners. It's not that I am against swearing in general, it just seems odd that a community of forward thinking supportive women would choose to use a word that actually means a normal, natural, sacred part of female anatomy to describe such vile and reprehensible men. Can anyone think of a creative alternative word to use instead?

Ops set a bit of a challenge though.

Can Mnetters be more creative than they already are at swearing?

Does the winner get a sacred cunt as a prize?

Wolfiefan · 01/05/2015 22:23

Thundercunt (which iPhone refuses to let me type) is ace!
I've worked with a few of those!
Grin

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 01/05/2015 22:23

What about calling the woman next door "Mrs Cuntypants" - is that still ok?

HeartsTrumpDiamonds · 01/05/2015 22:23

Wait until you get called an atrocious cunt, that is the highest accolade on MN (apart from being called a viper of course) Grin

Lots of worse words for our sacred fanjos. I hate the words twat and snatch (ugh) why not just say vagina? or vulva if that is what you mean?

But a lot of men really are cunts.

Cunting fuck, sorry about the double post

bayrans · 01/05/2015 22:25

I love the word Cunt. It is so deliciously expressive and harsh. And obviously a show stopper to some.
I was watching an American program tonight and their delivery of the word cunt is just not brutal enough....

reni1 · 01/05/2015 22:25

Don't know, dick or knob is used as much. If the word makes you flinch, shall we use chatte, cono or fotze? Don't call my own 'sacred' bits cunt anyway. Would tend to say YABU, freedom of expression and all that.

Wadingthroughsoup · 01/05/2015 22:25

'Terrible cunt' is also good.

sneakybollox · 01/05/2015 22:25

Why shouldn't we use that word? Why is it so shocking that women use that word? Because it's used by some to refer to a vagina? So?

Some people are cunts (not just men) and i prefer to call a cunt a cunt. No misunderstandings or reading between the lines about you really meant Smile

PinkSquash · 01/05/2015 22:25

I love Thundercunt. A lovely, sacred Thundercunt

PelvicFloorClenchReminder · 01/05/2015 22:25

Or do we all have to get up early on Sunday morning to go and worship at the Church of the Sacred Cunt?

fearandloathinginambridge · 01/05/2015 22:27

To me it's no different to using the word dick to describe a stupid fool of a person as opposed to the normal, natural, sacred (?) part of man.

ImperialBlether · 01/05/2015 22:27

I wrote a similar thread when I first came on here, OP. I got slaughtered. Just saying Grin

SenecaFalls · 01/05/2015 22:27

I do always wince a bit at it, but then I am American, and it's a really bad word in the US, right up there with the N word. It's only used for women in the US, and it is generally considered a deeply misogynistic slur.

badtime · 01/05/2015 22:28

Does 'thundercunt' come from one of the Blade films?

I seem to remember one vampire character being described as a cock-juggling thundercunt.

Sidalee7 · 01/05/2015 22:28

When someone describes a man who behaves appallingly to women my first thought is "what a cunt".

Cunt comes from the word "cut" - apparently used frequently in medieval times. If it was good enough for the Tudors, it's good enough for me.

NerrSnerr · 01/05/2015 22:28

I'm not convinced my vagina's sacred but I definitely have sacred ears. I would be very upset if people started saying that 'my husband was a terrible lughole' so I understand exactly what the OP is saying.

TheFairyCaravan · 01/05/2015 22:29

Sacred cunt!?!?! Hmm

That's got the making of a good username.

JulyKit · 01/05/2015 22:30

'obnoxious arsehole' is probably more appropriate than 'cunt' as a term for a horrible person.

I don't much like the sound of the word cunt, it's too much like 'shunt'. I used to dislike 'cunny' more than 'cunt', and so felt much relieved that I'm not a 17th century person. But just now I found out that 'cunny' possibly derives from 'cony' ('rabbit'). Now I like 'cunny' better than 'cunt'.

I often wonder if you'd walk up to a bunch of people who knew each other socially and complain about their language, if you came across them in a bar, for instance. If you wouldn't then it's probably not a good idea to do it online either. It's bad manners.

Lavenderice · 01/05/2015 22:31

I'm a fan of clunge. But cunt is my absolute fave.

SacredCunt · 01/05/2015 22:32

You called?
Everyone on their knees Grin

ChestyNut · 01/05/2015 22:33

I'm not opposed to cunt, I'm not discriminatory and use it for a variety of people and things.

A sacred cunt?! Can't imagine a giant statue of that for worshipping at Grin
