to wonder if political parties are posing as posters

Just noticed a few of these, where the thread begins with a negative statement (not a question) about a political party.

Obviously, anyone who was employed by a party to masquerade on social media would join in a smattering of other threads to make it look less suspicious- and that does indeed seem to be the case- but the main thrust is to begin political threads that make sweeping negative statements about the opposition.

Anyway, I am suspicious and I hope that Mumsnet look into it.

Politrolls have been on here for years.
You just have to learn to are through them.
Activists are so much better at social media than they were last general election!

Are was see!

cailindana · 01/05/2015 10:44

This sort of thing happens all the time. Companies do it too - they pay people to post on message boards and start discussions about their products. Mumsnet aren't going to look into it. What can they do if someone has a legitimate user name and doesn't post spam or break the talk guidelines. Anyone is entitled to post here, even if they have agenda. Just take what people say with a pinch of salt.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 01/05/2015 10:46

Yep. Really subtle isn't it? Hmm

chopinbabe · 01/05/2015 10:46

Politrolls! Smile

It just seems that the sweeping statements are carefully geared to excite the emotions of those whom they assume might use Mumsnet.

I think I might even go as far to say brazen scaremongering!

I'd be upset if they weren't Grin.

Counter productive, as far as I am concerned. If their policies are that good, why do they need to clog up social media ?

DoraGora · 01/05/2015 11:01

No, they're all genuine. Nobody could have an ulterior motive for smearing the opposition sorry, one party or another, with made up generalisations.
