My ds is 2.5 and crazy about bing (annoying black rabbit on cbeebies) since there is no bing toys available yet I found a pattern online and made him a cuddly toy bing. This has received a lot of attention and have happily taken peoples email addresses and linked them to the pattern.
This morning we went to the park and a woman approached me asking about my ds's bing, I offered to email her the pattern but she said she wanted to buy the one that I had made. I explained that he wasn't for sale but she kept offering me more and more money (£50 Shock) in the end after trying to explain I snapped a bit, said that its my son's favourite toy and its not for sale and to please leave me alone now.
She huffed off and left with her dd, less than a minute later my ds started crying "bing gone" I assumed he had dropped him off the climbing frame but couldn't find him anywhere, I walked to the other end of the park and saw this woman getting in her car with bing in her hands! I tried to run after her but she drove off, got my phone out to try and take a picture of the number plate but it was to late.
Who on earth would do that? I'm going in between being angry and trying not to cry. Ds cried the whole way home and is now looking around trying to find him Sad
My dd is a year old and we have been in and out of hospital with her for her whole life. I made bing as a present for ds for being angel at all of dds appointments, he even helps to stop her crying during tests.
Lucky I have lots of fabric left over so I'm desperately cutting out fabric to make another one.
I'm just in shock, who on earth would take a toy off a 2year old!
I really don't think the police would be interested in a homemade toy being stolen, sorry for the pity post, I just needed to rant Sad

bingbunnydaddy my DD would like to ask you why Pando always takes his shorts off Grin

We have a lot of Bing love in this house. OP I hope your DS loves his new toys and may the thief's crotch be infested with the fleas of a thousand camels.

I haven't commented on this thread yet, but have been following it from the beginning.
Couldn't believe how foul some people can be, and was disgusted. Now see the creator of Bing has been on offering to help, and think how lovely this is!
The best and worst of humankind all in one thread. Smile

Fugghetaboutit · 01/05/2015 19:07

5madthings · 01/05/2015 19:31

I am so glad there is a happy ending to this thread.

I hope karma catches up with horrible lady.

Cockbollocks · 01/05/2015 19:33

Sobbing next to ds3 who's 4 days old!

Some people are truly inhuman and some are beautiful beings.

Hypotenuse · 01/05/2015 19:37

Oh good lord, I never tear up but this is a wonderful turn around thread!

I love Bing. So does my 4yo. It's just so gentle! I think it's great that the kids are bigger than the adults, so all parenting has to be reasonable because the adults don't have the physical dominance to force their will like adults do to kids in real life.

I hope Bing bunny comes back from his adventure soon, old or new. I expect this will have reached the thief, or someone who knows her. I hope she crapped her pants when she realised, and as pp said, I hope that shit was a hedgehog.

Fairy13 · 01/05/2015 19:40

Best outcome to a thread ever.

MangoJuggler · 01/05/2015 19:41

Back of the net, teambing, back of the net.

3luckystars · 01/05/2015 19:49

Amazing thread. It started with the worst type of person and ended on a real high.

Sleepyfergus · 01/05/2015 19:51

Just unbelievable. Who would do just a thing? Can't believe the brass neck of some folk.

KatieKittie · 01/05/2015 19:53

So awful, just heartbreaking amazes me people do this!

When my brother was small his favourite bear (made a noise when you tipped it on its head - bloody annoying tbh) was sat next to him at a picnic and another child showed an interest and took him. The child wanted him so the mother insisted this bear was her child's, mum took him back... Later my brother started screaming he's gone again he's gone again - the mother had stolen him, only caught the thieving cow as when we were heading back to the car my brother now in tears, as this woman family was also getting into a car and the bear started calling for my brother "he's calling me, he's calling me" a happy ending as my mum wasn't loosing this bear without a fight and actually took it off the kid now holding it.

Was no doubt he was my brothers as he wore clothes hand made by my mum not to mention he'd been very loved by my brother that woman was swearing it was her child's - I can't imagine how these kids must be brought up!!

Glad to see a happy ending with the creator writing and sharing the post what a lovely chap!

LoobysMummy14 · 01/05/2015 19:54

Call the police. She has stolen your ds's property. Also harrasment.. what a vile creature!

ScottishDiblet · 01/05/2015 19:56

This is an outrageous story. I was shocked by the theft but SO excited that Ted Dewan has appeared on Mumsnet to make everything better!! We LOVE Bing in our house. OP I'm so sorry for your loss of Bing. Xx

BigSpottyCupofTea · 01/05/2015 19:57

I'm really sorry this happened to your lovely DS Golden.

I am sat crying at the loveliness of team bing, what lovely, kind people.

GothicRainbow · 01/05/2015 19:59

So pleased this thread has a happy ending, I was so appalled to hear what had happened to your lovely DS but this does show that there are truly some wonderful people out there.

I will definitely be watching Bing in a new light and would love a What Would Flop Do? Tshirt!

Busyorthomum · 01/05/2015 19:59

It would check if your local council have CCTV. There is some in our local park. Some people are beyond belief.
