to be shocked by this response (pushchair/disabled/facebook related sorry)

I have just seen a post re a man refusing to move or fold pushchair to enable a disabled person to board the bus. One response said that a infant trumps a grown person disabled or not. Aibu to find this response abhorrent and want to respond to that person and the 2 likers.

Respond? Just unfriend them unless you like being friends with no-brained fuckwits?

Brandysnapper · 29/04/2015 23:29

Why are you asking us? You know everyone will agree with you here. Have the courage of your convictions!

WorraLiberty · 29/04/2015 23:30

No but YABVU to drag this from one website to another.

If you're going to comment then just do it.

This is the internet. No-one can type you to death for giving your opinion.

HappinessHappening · 29/04/2015 23:30

I wished I could be shocked by that response but as a wheelchair user it's an attitude I see all the time

There's probably not much point responding to such an ignorant twat but it's lovely that you care enough to do so, so thank you for being one of the good guys Flowers

Akire · 29/04/2015 23:31

It's very rude if you are able to fold your pushchair not to do so. it has only been in the last ten years when you can take a pushchair on a bus. Before that you had to fold it lift it up and put it in a rack at the front of the bus!
If you are planning on using buses you should get one that can fold easily. I'm a wheelchair user I hardly ever use buses because in London waiting for a bus with no pushchairs is impossible and it's not worth the agro.

WorraLiberty · 29/04/2015 23:31

And if you want to do something useful, find out the name of the bus company and complain if the driver didn't make the person fold.

BishopBrennansArse · 29/04/2015 23:32

Oh no not another one.
Look, I've got 2 DC that use wheelchairs. I'm sure you can guess my stance.

But there have been parents on here that insist their child trumps mine despite buggies being foldable. We're entitled apparently and if we want equality that's what it means - parents hijacking disabled facilities.

What???

How is the OP 'one of the good guys'

Serious question btw.

She's done fuck all except moan on a completely different website instead of tapping a few keys to show how much she 'cares' on the site in question.

That doesn't smack of someone who particularly cares one way or another to me.

BishopBrennansArse · 29/04/2015 23:34

This is the shit disabled people get every day and people wonder why we get arsey and defensive.

Samcro · 29/04/2015 23:35

what worra said about the (gf) op

devon004 · 29/04/2015 23:37

I do care but I guess I am not brave enough to respond in such a public way.

OP posts:
Samcro · 29/04/2015 23:39

yet you can start a thread on here

yeah ok

devon004 · 29/04/2015 23:39

Gf?

You can be anonymous on here.

She cared enough to post a thread moaning about it, that's enough to show it bothers her and that she cares even if it's just a little bit. She's 'one of the good guys' because she clearly doesn't agree with what was posted on Facebook and unfortunately lots of people do

When you have to deal with people treating you terribly and abusing you for something beyond your control its just nice to know that not everyone feels that you are nothing but an inconvenience. Because there are some days that I feel like everyone looks at me with disgust and it's nice to be reminded there are nice people out there. I feel the same way about people who smile at me when I'm out and don't huff and puff or push my chair out of their way if I take a few seconds to long to get out of their way

WorraLiberty · 29/04/2015 23:41

Oh ffs....

Clearly you don't give a shit then if you can tap a few letters on your keypad

What exactly is the point of this thread?

Although having read Samcro's comment, I used AS and I agree you sound like you're just being a GF.

Prove me wrong by all means and work up the 'courage' to comment...if not then I'll assume you're just starting a boring 'contravershal' thread.

HappinessHappening · 29/04/2015 23:43

Oh goodness my last post was very garbled! Sorry, I really should learn not to post after my bedtime morphine Blush

devon004 · 29/04/2015 23:44

Just worked out what gf means. Sorry. That definitely vwasn't my intention.

Oh purhleease!

I'm not sure how long you've been on Mumsnet HappinessHappening but there was a time when it was the 'PILS' who made contraversal comments that an OP would post about just to be goady.

Nowadays it's something they've seen on FB or Britain first.

Boring and transparent and nothing 'caring' at all if they're not going to take the person to task on the internet of all places.

BathshebaDarkstone · 29/04/2015 23:51

I always used to offer to move my buggy when I had one, if a wheelchair user got on. I believe wheelchairs take priority.

ilovesooty · 29/04/2015 23:58

Anyone want to place a bet on how long it will be before someone comes on to justify why they can't fold their buggy and why adults in wheelchairs have to accommodate them?

devon004 · 30/04/2015 00:05

Well maybe I will respond to said person.
"No one can type you to death for giving your opinion"
why do I feel like you have done just that worra?
Clearly my mistake

OP posts:
SmillasSenseOfSnow · 30/04/2015 00:10

BishopBrennan, as unpleasant as that post is, surely it's obvious that it's just some dickhead who is bored and trolling? He calls disabled people 'you crips', for god's sake. Ignore, ignore, ignore. Or alternatively make a sarky comment spoiling the trolling attempt so others don't fall for it. That always ruins their fun.

devon004 · 30/04/2015 02:07

O well. Gone back into Facebook as can't sleep and can I find the post. No.

OP posts:
Dawndonnaagain · 30/04/2015 08:47

Smilla That wasn't Bishop's point. The point is that this is the sort of shit people with disabilities put up with on a daily basis. Doesn't matter that he's trolling, although he may not be. He may genuinely think that. People do, take a look at some of the threads on here.
