For me it was the woman who's DH used to withdraw food from her as punishment and she had to eat pizza out of the bin.
I often think of her and whether she managed to leave him. Marvinishungry I think her name was. If you are reading this, I hope you are safe and happy now.

What have been the threads that stayed with you that you wish you had updates for?

OP posts:

I'd like to know what happened tithe lady who's husband was having an affair - he sent his wife rather than the OW a text saying something like "Get your tits out" (because he was on his way round). The OP was something like LastTrainToLoserville. There were a few update threads and then I lost track.

I think she was separating but I'd love to know how she's doing now.

MrsGrimes · 28/04/2015 15:08

Polyethyl - that poster currently has a thread here in AIBU. It's called babynamechange update. Looks like things are still not much better Sad

I always, always think of BNC when this sort of thread comes up. I've never posted on any of her threads because I've no idea what to say or what advice to give. I just want her and her DS to have a happy life.

The football manager in Africa, the woman on the train and the MNetter in the country. Basically all the ones asked about!

Edsheeran, so happy for you. It does get so much easier.

Poledra · 28/04/2015 15:16

"I wonder sometimes about the poster whose sister and bil neglected their own daughters and they went to live with her"

I didn't think that one was fake - I thought the OP had the thread pulled as it was too identifying, and said at the end that she would not be updating in the future as she did not want the information out there on the net (which seemed reasonable to me).

If it was real, I do hope they're all doing well.

bendybrickpumpkinpatch · 28/04/2015 15:21

The one where the OP's 16 year old son got a 15 year old girl pregnant and the OP was devastated and desperately trying to convince them to terminate. I often wonder whether she went ahead and had the baby ? OP wanted to send her son away !

It had to be deleted in the end as it had become so identifiable that the girls parents were notified about the thread ! It didn't paint either them or their daughter in a very flattering light either and all hell broke loose !!

LurkingHusband · 28/04/2015 15:28

There was a recent thread where a lady didn't want to move to Australia, but was going on a holiday with a husband who had already got residence visas.

It stuck in my mind because every single poster advised against it, with very good reasons, and the OP seemed to ignore you all.

FromMeToYou · 28/04/2015 15:33

I remember one where a poster had a hard-earned deposit ready for a house and her wealthier sister asked to borrow it. The poster was wobbling re lending her the substantial amount, I think there was some doubt as to whether it would get paid back or not.

RustyParker · 28/04/2015 15:38

I remember that one too Lurking. It was like watching a car crash in slow motion and posters being unable to stop it Sad

EnjoyTheSimpleThingsInLife · 28/04/2015 15:45

I remember one from a few months ago about a man sitting outside the OP's house for weeks. I think the local vicar and police had to speak to him..don't know if that thread got updated or if they found out what he was doing.

SaucyJack · 28/04/2015 15:52

One on Relationships recently where a woman met her son's friend's dad in Costa, and he have her a wrapped parcel and told her not to tell his wife. She grabbed the parcel and stormed off, and then posted without ever opening it.

I lay awake some nights trying to guess what was in it.

ItsADinosaur · 28/04/2015 16:02

The one recently where the OP was 28 and was pregnant by her 19 year old boyfriend who was having a panic about impending fatherhood. They'd been ttc after only being together about 6 months. I don't think the OP ever came back.

Allalonenow · 28/04/2015 16:10

The lady taken ill on the train, and then refused treatment at hospital, she sounded so lovely, I hope she is OK now.

The young mother who went to the Middle East with her husband and her child was taken away by husband's family, she was left with no food and unable to leave the house, it all sounded so frightening, I hope she and child are safe now,

ApprenticeViper · 28/04/2015 16:12

One of the first threads I ever read was from an OP whose DH was having an affair (definitely emotional if not physical) in plain sight, and she just couldn't (or wouldn't) see it. One evening the DH invited the OW round to their house and she (the OW) was sitting on the sofa or in an armchair with the DH sitting on the floor at her feet, resting his head on her leg! There may have been a conclusion to this one, but if there was I missed it.

Oh, and the OP whose friend fell pregnant to a one night stand while on holiday in the US, she had the baby (can't remember whether she'd married the baby's father) and then came back to the UK, but the baby's father wanted her to go back to the US with the baby, which the OP and her other friends didn't want to happen because the baby's father had made noises about the baby staying with him and his mother permanently while the OP's friend would have to return to the UK.

regularbutpanickingabit · 28/04/2015 16:27

The one with the lovely lady with the really difficult husband who had a second (big) baby boy and a toddler who just never ever slept and needdedintense monitoring. They were movinh house and her Dad was charging loads of money to do any work, she was living with parents whilst thiswas happening but the parents were hopeless.

The music teacher and his visiting another woman.

Toadslayer.

Thewoman stuck in germany

I often wonder about Rollo the Lab with the runs. I hope he did get better; it sounded as if poor Solo2 was at the end of her rope.

ImNotShpanishImEgyptshun · 28/04/2015 16:43

The poster whose husband had a foreskin that really really needed to come off, but he wouldn't get it done. The last update was that after he watched her go through a really traumatic birth, he realised he was being pathetic and was going to have it done.

But did he???

LadyFlumpalot · 28/04/2015 17:09

Years ago there was a thread started by an army wife whose husband didn't get her a Mother's Day card from their children because "she was a crap mum" and was generally very abusive to her.

She was going to try and leave after a christening (I think) and I just hope she is ok. Sad

lollilou · 28/04/2015 17:37

ItsADinosaur I remember that one. I'm not surprised she didn't come back some of the replies were nasty.

Blueandwhitelover · 28/04/2015 17:44

The music teacher one, I often think about her, the football coach one too, I definitely get way too invested in some threads!

WipsGlitter · 28/04/2015 17:47

One where the op posted a lot about her husband, needing a norland / night nanny, her husband refusing to eat her food. Lots of people advising get to get out but she seemed to have no clue how to stand on her own two feet and it sounded like they were well off and she didn't want to take the drop in income.

And one called apple something who was being disciplined at work - something to do with clicking on or off??
