To ask what threads you wish you'd had an update for

For me it was the woman who's DH used to withdraw food from her as punishment and she had to eat pizza out of the bin.
I often think of her and whether she managed to leave him. Marvinishungry I think her name was. If you are reading this, I hope you are safe and happy now.

What have been the threads that stayed with you that you wish you had updates for?

A year or two ago there was a woman who was given a 'wand' as a leaving present from work.

They'd had a whip round and got about a hundred quid but it was claimed that it had all been spent on this wand, which to the untrained eye was indistinguishable from a stick that a dog or a child might pick up when out in the woods.

We never did find out whether it was a joke, or if someone was pulling a fast one somewhere.

thehumanstain: I'm not sure if you're talking about me?. I had to have my threads deleted but he's a Psychiatrist and 'fuck off Keith' (not his name btw!) became a mantra on a thread?!.

If it is me - I found out some more about him and despite his threats and me shitting myself with fear, I whistle blew.

He's currently suspended by our employers and the GMC and subject to serious internal and external investigations which I can't discuss. That's also why I had the threads deleted.

Obviously I can't predict outcomes but right now he looks so far past 'untouchable' and looking more like 'completely fucked'.

Not counting chickens, obviously, but I really, really hoped you could do something like that when I was reading your thread. He was so obviously a highly-skilled, abusive manipulator that I couldn't imagine he was a good thing for either his colleagues or patients.

BitofFun... I really wouldn't know, I'm absolutely rubbish at picking up on new names. I have to rely on people leaping up in front of me (metaphorically), saying 'it's me!'. I can't pick out a troll either. Blush

I'm like the Harry Potter version of a 'squib'... hours and years on MN and absolutely no talent for it... :(

That one about the wand sounds hilarious and appalling in equal measure! I missed it completely. It sounds like one of those toe-curlingly embarrassing situations where everyone thinks something is off but no-one knows what to say! A sort of Emperor's New Clothes situation.

pivot IIRC, vertical did leave her abusive DP but he trashed all her stuff. I think there was more but I can't remember it all.

I have a number of posters I occasionally think about, wonder how they are now. TrinityRhino and Riven are two, but others include OnlyJoking, FAQ (the original list maker for getting housework done), MendhisMummy (think I've spelt that right) and Starsandstripes. Also Hedgewitch (? not 100% sure on the name) maybe a little controversial for those who remember her but I do hope things changed for the better.

A long time ago there was a thread where the OP was stuck in Brazil and her DP or DH was being really horrible to her. I think her DB was going to go over and bring her back. I hope everything turned out ok for her.

I still think of a poster who was a regular on here. She had six kids, I think. Her first DD had died at just 5 weeks old and the poster's family including her DH would never talk about her. The MNer missed her terribly and often posted about how hard she found their silence :(

The baby's birthday was very close to mine and I always think of her at that time of year.

I often think of Mr Biscuit and the crumbs - biscuitsandbandages dh and dc, and hope they are doing well. She died in November after a long illness, with support threads showing MN at its best I think. We all so hoped and prayed for her to pull through. MrB posted on a memorial thread in Feb and their love for each other and the dc just shone out, the baby just had her first birthday. thread here. Outside MN she was Theresa and a GP - a JustGiving page set up to raise £500 for the charities she supported raised over £5,000.
