As someone who is far left wing, I will be possibly voting for TUSC.

They have had a very limited media attention. They have the backing of several unions and socialist parties that have a considerable amount of members.

Aibu to think that Smaller parties like TUSC need a voice.

One of my friends is a TUSC candidate. It's true they are not well known. Unfortunately in a country that views Labour as far left, TUSC are not going to fare well

I've never heard of them but looking at that link they're very localised, and definitely haven't made it to my area.

I'm already voting SNP, but if I wasn't I would vote for them. I do think they need far more coverage.

I was labour in the 80s when they cared for working people above business. Tusc were founded by Bob crow who in my opinion was a very honourable man.

Bob Crow was a real working class hero. I went to a TUSC meetings when Bob was there. He gave great speeches!

I agree fencels great speaker.

They've got a candidate in my constituency so I read their policies. They are full of hot air (even more than other parties). Their manifesto is a collection of populist policies and no explanation on how they would finance them. I won't vote for them although I am seriously interested in alternatives to the main parties.

Perhaps we could afford it if the number of billionaires hadn't doubled in the last five years of austerity.

I think most people are far too seeped in the status quo capitalist views on how an economy should be run to even consider that something like the nationalisation of banks might actually work.
I think the society that we are living in is broken and has been for practically ever and that alternative ways of working are demonised by those for whom the current system works the most.
I think anything that might move us towards a more level playing field has got

I've got a friend standing as a candidate too, I'm idly wondering if it's the same friend as fence's! Not in my constituency sadly. Said friend is very passionate and I'm broadly aligned with their moral and political positions so I'd investigate further if I could vote for them.

Better they pay some tax here than go away again and pay none.

Thankfully they've not made their way to these parts. They'd be rightly told where to go if they tried!

There are some policies in there that I agree with wholeheartedly....which is a big surprise for me as I am not really socialist, and completely disagree with much if the behaviour of the unions. So in conclusion, I agree they should have more airtime, as I would not have known I had common ground with the TUSC before this thread.

It sounds a great idea to tax the rich and use it to pay for lots of good things. The rich should pay more, no doubt about it.
But the hard fact is that the really rich are a small minority, and doubling their tax will not provide much. Most income tax is paid by the middle classes.
As for Bob Crow, he didn't get much sympathy for bringing misery to London commuters to get more money for already extremely well paid tube drivers. They aren't the ones in need.

How to pay for lots of lovely policies...

Clamp down hard on non-dom and corporate tax avoidance...sorry 'tax efficiency'. Raise minimum wage, improve employment law and stop paying subsidies for low pay in private business - always surprised the anti-subsidy Tories tolerated Working Tax Credits.

Renegotiate if not just bin PFI contracts. The PFI liabilities that Labour kept off book until the EU forced them to disclose represents how much of the deficit?

Scrap the Civil List - the incomes from the Duchies of Cornwall and Lancaster are enough.

Scrap Trident and also save the cost of those iodine pills for the residents of Devonport, Faslane/Coulport.

Re-nationalise railways - we pay more to private companies/ Deutsche Bahn/ Nederlandse Spoorwagen than BR ever cost. The 'efficiency' privatisation promised is simply neo-con spin for profit. A state industry that derives no shareholder value is 'inefficient' in their view.

PFI top of my list though. Still can't quite believe HMRC outsourced their own offices to a Bermuda based company. Would be funny if it didn't cost us so much.
