had 3 interviews final one on Monday. just found out it was a no.
OK it would have been close to me and good money etc.
but my dh has just got a job after being a sahd for 18 months.
its work from home 40 hours a week and good money.
so why am I upset???
I wanted a break from work and to be able to take to and from school.

I didn't get a short term contract I quoted for today and I was also pissed off that she didn't choose me but relieved as I didn't really want to do it! I think my ego took a slight bruising but it's dusted itself off already and got back up again as I know that I can spend my time more productively on something better for me!

you just have to look on the bright side and know that something better / more appropriate is round the corner.

Clearly if they don't want you then you're not the perfect match with them and more importantly they are not the right match for you. So it's a two way thing!! You're better off without them and you can also concentrate on finding something even better either daily-life or jobs-wise that matches you and your skills / talents a lot better. Good luck!

Yes, even if you didn't really want it and didn't think it suited, it's ego.
A bit like passing something over in a sale only to feel a bit miffed when you see someone else pick it up Confused

Be more pleased about DH's new situation and your chance to do what you really wanted with/for the DC.

In Feb I was asked to go for a job in my dept - full time whereas I'm pt. It was my dream job on great money and I was so flattered they asked me to apply. Then I didn't get it. It gives me more time with dc and my work life balance is so much better staying pt but it still upset me/ knocked my confidence. 3 interviews would have taken lots of energy so it's the let down at the end even if you didn't want it.
