what do you think?

OP posts:
Eastpoint · 21/04/2015 17:28

Why? She looks like a 45 year old to me.

EchoOfADistantTide · 21/04/2015 17:29

I think it's a natural photo. She's laughing which really shows wrinkles and lines.

I also think she looks just fine.

usualsuspect333 · 21/04/2015 17:31

She looks good for 45 to me, wrinkles and all.

It's quite normal to have a few wrinkles at 45.

Yarp · 21/04/2015 17:32

No

She looks like a 45 year old woman. A pretty one.

How old are you, OP

As an aside, there's an advert for face cream with Helen Mirren in it ATM which has not had the usual amount of photoshopping. She ,gasp> has wrinkles

tabulahrasa · 21/04/2015 17:33

No, they've just picked one where she's laughing so they're more prominent.

DarthVadersTailor · 21/04/2015 17:33

She looks gorgeous. That's about all I've got to say, other than I wish she'd permanently dress like Galadriel Grin

VictoriaPeckem · 21/04/2015 17:34

Forgot to type half my post!

I think she looks great (and don't feel the need to qualify it by saying "for 45"). However, I've never seen a photo of her with lines or wrinkles, then Gorgio Armani says she's ageing naturally and the DM find pictures of her with wrinkles and lines!

OP posts:
Yarp · 21/04/2015 17:34

It's for L'Oreal. Have a google. It's refreshing

LaurieFairyCake · 21/04/2015 17:34

Looks totally normal to me. There's very little you can do about crows feet. Unless you have a face lift and an eye lift - even then the rest of your face can look a touch stretched

I would say she's had some resurfacing work done though.

Yarp · 21/04/2015 17:35

Ah, I see what you mean.

cashewnutty · 21/04/2015 17:35

She doesn't have wrinkles really. Those are just laughter lines because she is smiling a genuine, non botoxed smile.

SaucyJack · 21/04/2015 17:36

They've probably had a team of ten researchers working 25 hours a day to find the crappest pic of her they can.

And she still looks beautiful.

tabulahrasa · 21/04/2015 17:39

"However, I've never seen a photo of her with lines or wrinkles, then Gorgio Armani says she's ageing naturally and the DM find pictures of her with wrinkles and lines!"

That's because her face moves...unlike most 'actresses' (I'm giving inverted commas because I don't think you should class yourself as an actress if you're no longer able to display facial expressions)

Eastpoint · 21/04/2015 17:44

I went to see While We are Young last week and Naomi Watts looked true to her age too - maybe we're making progress.

Coumarin · 21/04/2015 17:57

Her photos are usually red carpet type ones where she's straight faced. The picture they've chosen is one where she's smiley broadly. She has normal laughter lines because her face moves.

VictoriaPeckem · 21/04/2015 18:00

SaucyJack Grin

Eastpoint - I've noticed that about Naomi Watts - hope she resists going down the path of her mate, Nicole Kidman.

Yarp - I'm older than CateB but younger than Helen Mirren!

She's 45, that's how it looks. It just shows how much photo-shopping has become the norm.

lertgush · 21/04/2015 19:18

She's a skinny 45 year old. I have fewer wrinkles at 46 but that's only because I'm fatter :-)

SlaggyIsland · 21/04/2015 19:39

She and Naomi Watts are also both Australian and it's quite tough to avoid a few wrinkles growing up in the sun.
They both look beautiful - good for them for not ruining their faces.

VictoriaPeckem · 22/04/2015 07:06

wrinkles happen whether you grow up in the sun or not. Normal part of the ageing process - to varying degrees - and it's good to see women feted for their beauty who haven't tried to erase time.

Though when they pose for the products they endorse both Naomi and Cate are happy to be photoshopped to high heaven!

She's had Botox in her forehead - very very good Botox that allows her eyes and east of face to move but that forehead has had work.

She looks fabulous and I'd love to have the name of her Botox-er as I'd have it done in a flash if I could afford it.

however · 22/04/2015 08:19

I have wrinkles pretty much exactly like hers. Though fewer in the cheeks.

My forehead is completely wrinkle free, with just a couple of I raise my eyebrows. So was mum's until she was about 55. And my grandfather. I've been asked if I've had botox before.

Floisme · 22/04/2015 08:23

I get the impression celebs are starting to move away from Botox (now that the plebs have caught on to it perhaps?). But there do seem to be a lot more amazingly tight jawlines around Wink

notnowbono · 22/04/2015 08:28

I think we've completely lost sight of what 30/40something women actually look like, thanks to the amount of everyday photoshopping that goes on in magazines, not just close-up cosmetic ads.
