All I want is reasonably priced garden furniture that is going to stay looking nice for a few years.

Why is it so hard to find anything under a grand? I only want a dining set and possibly something comfy to sit on. Even Argos crap is coming in at close to a grand for everything. Sad

Ebay is your friend. And gumtree, actually.

Try hotukdeals or offeroftheday

Have you tried looking in B&M? garden furniture

GiddyOnZackHunt · 21/04/2015 14:17

Robert Days?

Alanna1 · 21/04/2015 14:17

I've looked at made.com. Any views from others who have used it a few years later?

GiddyOnZackHunt · 21/04/2015 14:18

Dyas WAS what I meant darn you autocorrect.

worldgonecrazy · 21/04/2015 14:20

Thanks - I've looked on ebay but have no way to gauge quality, I really want stuff I can go and check out before purchase. The B&M stuff is okay, but I have seen some of it in store and the quality is a bit hit and miss, though the glider chair is £20 cheaper than I've seen it locally.

Groupon?

Thistledew · 21/04/2015 14:23

How good is your DIY?

Charlesroi · 21/04/2015 14:26

Asda are flogging garden sets at the moment. They had a display in the foyer of our local one the other day.

doradoo · 21/04/2015 14:31

I don't know what size/type you are looking for but we bought from lazy susan last year - it's metal furniture and we've been happy with the quality.

You can get a decent set for around£650 - it's maintenance free so will last and look good!

Charlesroi · 21/04/2015 14:31

Also have you tried jysk.co.uk?

OnIlkleyMoorBahTwat · 21/04/2015 14:32

Ikea?

We got an extending table, bench and two chairs, all made from hardwood about five years ago for about £3/400 if memory serves.

Is all still absolutely fine despite being left out in the rain and not varnished or anything since we got it.

worldgonecrazy · 21/04/2015 14:36

Thanks for the Idea recommendation. I will take a look at Lazy Susan and jysk too.

I got a bargain table and chairs from Robert Dyas a couple of years ago, try them :)

MrsCaptainReynolds · 21/04/2015 14:42

Another lazy susan customer here- not cheap but long lasting, all weather, maintenance free. Looks good. But my 6 seater set with parasol was £900ish. I just got hacked off spending £200-£300 over and over again on stuff that rapidly looked crap.

Pengweng · 21/04/2015 14:46

IKEA? We got a wooden table, 2 chairs and a bench with a back on it (easier to trap children in)about three years ago and it's still fine. We keep it covered in winter but it only cost us about £100 so has faired surprising well. The only annoying thing is it has no hole bit to stick a parasol in but since it's in the part of the garden that is mostly shaded then i'm ok with that and i could always drill a hole if i was that bothered.

Girlwhowearsglasses · 21/04/2015 14:48

IKEA ÄPPLARÖ

Had some for five years and bought a few more items since. Just had to resand the table this year - its doe really well and wood looks good underneath.

Seats and table for four £255
