Pets Corner Etiquette

Another farm park question.... (you can tell this was our first visit!)

There was a pets corner where staff had 'handling sessions' for kids. About 15 kids and parents sat on hay-bales and staff handed out chicks and baby rabbits. There weren't enough to go round, DD didn't have one and no-one was passing any on. Friend's DC are very confident, went and asked other kids if they could have a turn, but DD is too shy to ask. After waiting 10 mins I politely asked a mum (whose 2 DC had a rabbit each) if my DD could cuddle one of the rabbits. Other mum looked annoyed and made a big song and dance getting one of her DC to hand over the bunny. WABU to ask? Aren't the kids supposed to share at these sessions or is it first come first serve?

Yanbu they should be shared out one per family

The handlers should have dealt with it, you shouldn't have had to ask.

Every time I've been to any kind of animal handling thing with kids, the staff make sure all the kids get a turn. As a parent I would have offered a pet to a child without one to cuddle if my child had had a turn.

Song and dance Mum sounds like twit.

You're right op. People are supposed to share. It's nothing to do with first come first served.
You'd paid the same amount of money as the next person.
Why are some adults so rude. I won't say children because if they're not encouraged to share then they can't be expected to.

I hate things like this. One per family would have been a better way to do it but it's never so obvious at the time it's happening.

I guess you just have to suck up the rudeness of other people. Would have been nice if she'd taught her kids to share though.
