Suggested to DH that he should take up drinking coffee.
Why would I do that? he replied.
Because coffee tastes better than tea, I said
That's a matter of opinion,
No, it's a proven fact.

Coffee in the morning. Tea with food.

DustyCropHopper · 19/04/2015 09:23

YABVVVVVVU. Coffee smells and tastes disgusting. Tea is lovely.

threestars · 19/04/2015 09:25

Running out of coffee in this house constitutes crisis.
Tea? Nah.

Sunny67 · 19/04/2015 09:31

Coffee Coffee Coffee,! Tea is vile, drink of the devil. It stinks and tastes even worse. I drink black coffee and my old boss drank black tea, I accidentally picked up his cup and took a drink, had a cold so didn't smell it, I had to make a run for the kitchen to spit it out. He thought it was hilarious me dashing off with hamster cheeks.

Aeroflotgirl · 19/04/2015 09:38

Yabvvvvvvvvu tea tea tea all the way. Tea is relaxing and soothing, it's like a warm hug inside Smile.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/04/2015 09:39

Coffee smells amazing. I always offer to grind DH's coffee as I love doing it.

They're both wonderful. I would give up coffee first though.

I prefer the varieties and complexity of different teas. Lapsang Souchong is amazing. My Sunday afternoon treat, that is. Grin

notsmartenough · 19/04/2015 09:44

Coffee for me, although I do like the occasional Chai tea latte.

Lucymill · 19/04/2015 09:46

Definitely coffee in the morning. Tea first thing is horrible and makes me feel really queasy. If I had to give up one it would definitely be tea

ShadowSteam · 19/04/2015 09:48

YABU.

Coffee smells better, but it tastes absolutely vile. It's bizarre. I can't think of anything else edible where the smell and taste are so badly out of synch.

Tea, on the other hand, smells okay but tastes great.

Hathall · 19/04/2015 09:49

Coffee is for people who are do-ers and have get up and go.
Tea is for people who laze around in their pjs, wanting to feel cozy and slob around.

YABVVVVVU coffee is minging. All of you that hate tea are clearly making it wrong ('tis a science tea making).

GuiltyAsAGirlCanBe · 19/04/2015 09:55

I will drink tea, but coffee is best.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/04/2015 09:56

I should add that although I ultimately prefer tea, tea with milk or sugar is disgusting. I use a special glass infuser to make it. The thought of then sloshing a load of milk into it makes me feel sick.

I realise I'm a bit out of step with this though Grin

frizzyhairstress · 19/04/2015 09:58

Did anyone start liking coffee as they got older?

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 19/04/2015 10:00

While I'm at it, long milky coffee is horrid and ruins the grind. A beautiful little espresso is the way forward here.

minouwasminou · 19/04/2015 10:01

Tea is for wimps and commies.

My first cup of full-on strong "real" coffee was at age 10 and it was like a light going on in my brain.

A light that has never gone out.....

ASorcererIsAWizardSquared · 19/04/2015 10:03

coffee is disgusting.

PuntasticUsername · 19/04/2015 10:05

SATIRE ALERT

I think it's beyond disgusting that someone should make a Holocaust reference in a discussion like this. Haven't you just technically lost the argument? I bet you want to flog your Grandad's medals off too. Poor Grandad.

Wink :p

MidniteScribbler · 19/04/2015 10:07

Why is it any of your damned business? If he wants to drink tea, then that is his choice.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 19/04/2015 10:08

Coffee in the morning when I'm knackered and need waking up. Tea just doesn't cut it.

But... nothing like a lovely cup of tea in the afternoon.

Follyfoot · 19/04/2015 10:09

Team tea here. Love the smell of coffee, but thats where it ends.

Plus who would want coffee breath?

hobNong · 19/04/2015 10:09

Yanbu.

Tea is a waste of boiled water.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 19/04/2015 10:10

Do you know what I think is beyond weird? Herbal teas.

Honestly I love my nan but everytime she says she wants a cup of camomile tea, I just feel like screaming "WHY????!!???"

Coffeethrowtrampbitch · 19/04/2015 10:11

I used to like both but went off tea when pg. I was then forced through politeness to drink a giant cup, and haven't been able to face it since.

I love coffee but my sister adores tea so for her sake I have to support having both.

FromAtoZ · 19/04/2015 10:13

YANBU coffee is the best by far. I love the new douwe egberts flavour collection especially the caramel and vinalla ones.

I've even converted FIL to coffee with these after he smelt the vinalla one.
