Sadly dm think dax parents havent done anything wrong. However if you read the comments of the new appeal it sounds like daxs patents have done alot of damage to the trust of the public. Can dm comments be trusted?

albertcamus · 26/04/2015 21:28

On this day of the London Marathon where runners have raised £££ for genuine causes and provoked genuine admiration for their dedication to the cause through training hard, the true spirit of charity is in evidence. The abuse of the generous donors to the 'Dax Foundation' looks even more disgusting, as it risks general cynicism towards charitable activity.

Mischalively your disingenuity is pretty sickening too.

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 08:25

What nasty comments, and pompous post. Also, quite ironic given the topic of this thread which is about questioning the genuine cause of a charity from two people who appear to have, at best, misled the public on the truth of their situation. You touch on a good point, albertcamus - if people abuse generous doners, it indeed does risk general cynicism towards charitable activity.

ElizabethHoover · 27/04/2015 08:33

agree with Mischa
Either go to the police or STFU

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 08:49

Also albert please mind your manners and curb your aggression. There are ways of saying and discussing things without resorting to attack.

albertcamus · 27/04/2015 18:15

Mischa

May I suggest that if, as you claim, English is not your first language (hence your disingenuous requests for clarification/explanation of previous posters' points) you consider your own tone and usage of judgemental adjectives and commands ?

albert I must say I find your posts quite baffling. As for questioning whether English is truly my first language then I will take that as a compliment! :-)

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 19:10

Not only is English not my first language but it is also not my first culture. So I sincerely ask MNers to read between the lines if I say something that is not culturally in line. I am doing my best to communicate my thoughts as best I can!

albertcamus · 27/04/2015 21:36

M : I'm pleased to see that your comments are ensuring that this thread is being frequently bumped, rather than sinking as I'm sure the apologists for the parents would prefer.

I for one am very happy to contribute to the ongoing debate about the issue.

ElizabethHoover the police, RMH, the insurance company and other stakeholders have been formally requested to look into this, as I'm sure you are aware, so it's too late to tell people to STFU.

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 22:18

albert I appreciate your opinion. Although I still consider your previous remarks towards me to be unjustifiably offensive and - ironic considering your comments on me - judgmental. Moving on though (as I suspect your last post may be as conciliatory as you are willing to go) I'm afraid I disagree with you about the "apologists" of the parents wishing this thread to be "bumped". I have the feeling that bringing the worst out of the challengers (to Dax's fund) helps them (the parents) more. I am merely attempting to understand the nuances of this case.

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 22:22

And share the view of puzzlement that many here in this thread feel regarding the moving of goalposts on what the cause of this charity was in the first place

Mischalively · 27/04/2015 22:30

I am merely echoing many sentiments here that it is not the helping of the parents financially that was ever the issue. It was in the way it was presented and later retracted and changed further with every next challenge that has got under people's skin.

Charity accounts are public but they don't list every donation separately it will just be a total e.g. 100k for shops, 500k from direct debits, 600k from donations etc. A bit like a company's accounts where they wouldn't list each individual sale

DaisyStarLight · 29/04/2015 08:35

Freedom of information act request, could one be sent to the charity to find out the amount?

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 29/04/2015 12:34

It only applies to public organisations not to charities. I feel sorry for RMH especially as many charities are criticised for having high admin costs. Answering all these queries must be costing them Sad

Painfulbits · 29/04/2015 13:40

Yes! These parents have probably cost that charity more than they've earned them by now!

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 16/05/2015 08:07

There is an American family in Hong Kong right now with a premature baby and 'medical bills'. I wonder if Dax's parents are checking out their gofundme in case they get more free money than they did.

I'm so fed up of how they've got away with this.

ChwatFeechers · 16/05/2015 08:30

Maybe you should try to push it to the back of your mind then, Orange if it's making you so fed up.
Can't believe how many people are so heavily invested in something that has no bearing on their own lives. Let it go, they obviously have!

OrangeJuiceSandwich · 16/05/2015 14:23

They've let it go all the way to the travel agent no doubt.

I've fed up of hearing about all these gofundme esq sites which just pray on greed. There needs to be regulation so more people aren't conned.
