Last thread was full and I can't find another one.

scambuster where are you?

OP posts:
Justusemyname · 19/04/2015 06:55

I was very surprised and annoyed they didn't thank the people who have donated while on this morning and even when given the chance they waffled on about something else.

Let's hope they think it was worth it when Dax is shunned at school for having grabby parents.

squoosh · 19/04/2015 07:01

Things can catch up with you publicity wise without catching up in a legal sense.

londonrach · 19/04/2015 14:39

Not fair on dax justuse as its not his fault his patents have no morals. However i firmly believe what goes around comes around.... Donate the money daxs parents to this charity that has helped you!

Justusemyname · 19/04/2015 17:39

I didn't say it was fair on DaxConfused.

londonrach · 19/04/2015 17:41

I know. The fb has now died apart from people asking..

Pipbin · 19/04/2015 17:42

And with such a frankly hideous unusual name he will stand out at school.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 19/04/2015 17:52

It will catch up with them in terms of reputation, unfortunately for Dax, he has an unusual name.

londonrach · 19/04/2015 17:55

It must be now affecting, effecting richards business. I mean would you trust them. If only they gave every penny to Ronald house they earnt we all go quiet.

Heels99 · 19/04/2015 18:02

Did anyone here actually donate though, I doubt it as mnetters have got more sense. For those that did donate, the receivers can spend it on whatever they like including tattoos and fake tans. There is no legal obligation on the recipients to donate it to a worthy cause. That mn message about people not always being who they say they are applies

squoosh · 19/04/2015 18:04

If I was a eager young journalist in their local newspaper, I'd think this would make a good exposé piece.

BigChocFrenzy · 19/04/2015 18:05

I hope Dax himself doesn't get teased later at school, when his name comes up in Google, 100% not his fault, poor kid.
But I wonder how the neighbours regard his parents now ?

Justusemyname · 19/04/2015 19:18

They said they would donate. They didn't have to say that. Maybe they genuinely planned too and have changed their minds £££££. Or maybe they never planned too but thought it sounded good.

RoastitBubblyJocks · 19/04/2015 19:45

Technically, the money belongs to their insurance company.

Heels99 · 19/04/2015 20:13

The donated money does not technically belong to the insurance company it was donated to them as individuals and unfortunately they can do what the heck they want with it. Awful for those who donated although god knows who did!

RoastitBubblyJocks · 19/04/2015 20:17

It was donated in order to pay medical bills, so it DOES belong to the insurance company. Honestly, it does. Google it. If the insurance company cared enough to take it to court, they'd win.

Chucklecheeks · 19/04/2015 20:18

What is the name of the Facebook page?

RoastitBubblyJocks · 19/04/2015 20:18

Someone mentioned it on the last thread.

RoastitBubblyJocks · 19/04/2015 20:20

sorry Chuckle, was replying to heels!

It's called Dax's Tale of New York or something.

Heels99 · 19/04/2015 20:33

No it doesn't! If you wrote off your car and I felt sorry for you and gave you £10k to buya nnew one, you wouldn't have to give that to the insurance company!
People donated money to them, they are not compelled to give that to charity or to the insurer.

londonrach · 19/04/2015 20:35

Daxs tale of new york its on facebook...

Stanky · 19/04/2015 20:38

It's sad that they misled people. They never did say how much that they donated to the charity, and they have not updated their page for a long time. They should be ashamed.

StackladysMorphicResonator · 19/04/2015 20:47

Scumbags. This is fraud, pure and simple. I sincerely hope karma bites them in the arse.

RoastitBubblyJocks · 19/04/2015 20:51

Heels, I would if you gave me it in order to compensate me for the loss of the car and I also was paid out under my insurance.

I'm really not pulling your leg. It's the law. I am a lawyer.

Obviously it would be difficult to prove in a private arrangement like your car example, but in this example, the donation page actually said "we need this for medical bills as insurance won't pay" or something. So the insurance company are entitled to it.

MegMogandOwlToo · 19/04/2015 21:15

It would ax sully be that the people who donated it would be entitled to it back, as they donated it due to a misrepresentation.

trufflesnout · 19/04/2015 21:44

Legal wrongdoing isn't the only kind of wrongdoing, just because they haven't committed criminal offences (on technicality, anyway, it's still quite possible they could have committed fraud by obtaining money by deceit) doesn't mean they have done nothing wrong.
