To have left DP stranded in Bridlington?

We went for a day out. He promised he would get up early so we could set off. 10am he's still snoring away despite we telling him at 9am I wanted to get going. 10.30 I go in and snap at him and pump. He begrudgingly gets up muttering "for fucks sake man". I leave him to get ready. 11am I go up to find him faffing on his laptop. I shout at him, he shouts "hew!" And finally gets ready. We set off in the car over 2 hours later than planned. Then he says "I forgot to do my teeth". I say "oh" and he laughs and says "did you hear me?? I forgot to do my teeth". I snap " well tough, I'm not going back now, we've faffed about enough" and he flings back in his chair like a 2 year old.
In brid he leaves us in the car to go and get some fish and chips. I open the window to inform him of his triangle legs and he shouts (so everyone turns to look at us) "here, I'm getting sick of you taking the piss out of us like". So I drive off and left him having to pay £20 to get the train back. AIBU or did he deserve it??!!

YABU
You should have left him at home after he had delayed more than half an hour.
BUT
Once you got to Bridlington you should have waited until after you'd eaten your fish and chips and only then left him stranded.

Did you order cod or haddock?

CatsCantTwerk · 16/04/2015 18:48

I've been waiting for something to cheer me up all day. Loving the Geordie lingo Op!

leccybill · 16/04/2015 18:48

"But what shall we do in sunny Bridlington?"
"Sit in the caravan, wait for the rain to go off, then dash out to the bookies and back, like we always do!"
"Can't wait!"

If I was your DP I wouldn't want to get out of bed either.

YouTheCat · 16/04/2015 18:52

I love Bottom Grin

OP, I really don't understand why you'd bother driving there and then bugger off before you had any fish and chips. I don't get the triangle legs thing either. I've heard it before from a 9 year old but I don't get it.

BrianButterfield · 16/04/2015 18:52

YWBU if you got fish and chips on the seafront. There are much superior places elsewhere in town, only the locals like to keep them to ourselves.

It's easy to get a train from brid. But actually it sounds like you were both horrid to each other. You should both be reconsidering the relationship

Why didn't you leave him in bed and go by yourself?

Pipbin · 16/04/2015 21:39

Nice that neither of you had children or work to worry about on a weekday. Personally I wouldn't have bothered with the trip after that kind of start to the day.

Don't forget though, triangle man hates particle man. m.youtube.com/watch?v=sNT8SMlqLJA

keepsmiling2015 · 16/04/2015 21:40

Imagine you were a man and he was a woman in this scenario Hmm

SanityClause · 16/04/2015 21:41

I think HINBU to reassess your relationship. I think you should consider it, too. I honestly think you would be happier apart, if this is a representative snapshot of your life together.

SingingHinnies · 16/04/2015 21:45

Geordies don't say Hew, non i know anyway, Sunderland or Durham way maybe

ilovesooty · 16/04/2015 21:47

It amazes me that people really embarrass themselves posting stuff like this.

FlyingPirate · 16/04/2015 21:53

Confused Am I missing something? Is this some kind of pop reference? If not, YABU

BolshierAyraStark · 16/04/2015 21:56

Really? Love that you felt the need to ask IYWBU... Hmm

TenerifeSea · 16/04/2015 22:12

Not all the schools are back yet, are they?

maddening · 16/04/2015 22:20

Why were you going to Bridlington?

EmpressOfJurisfiction · 16/04/2015 22:46

Have you ever had a fight with him in Asda?

durhamgirl · 16/04/2015 23:12

Not in Durham Hinnies, only if we're taking the mick!

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 16/04/2015 23:15

I don't get it

SingingHinnies · 16/04/2015 23:39

durhamgirl who say's hew....Sunderland, who say's Marra, Durham?
idk i'm in Gateshead and no one here says Hew, actually it might be Chester/Ouston way say Hew as i think i heard someone say it once and im sure they lived there

SingingHinnies · 16/04/2015 23:40

They said it all the time though Grin

Middlerose · 16/04/2015 23:56

Name me 3 things you love about your partner OP?

PrettyPenguin · 16/04/2015 23:57

I'm still Hmm at the "I go in and snap at him and pump..."

What does that even mean?? The triangle legs thing is all sorts of weird.
