RMH sound a bit pissed off in their statement. I would be too if my name was associated with that scamming bunch. I feel sorry for RMH.

Scambuster3 · 23/04/2015 19:20

RMHNY are getting all the comments because Dax's tale of New York have blocked anyone commenting.

RMHNY really have been scammed by their former house guests in every way possible. Sad

This is the 2nd thread so over 1000 comments.

Why don't MN do a gofund me for the RMH.

I mean if every poster who cares that this charity got a raw deal paid £1 the amount the charity would get would be a huge amount

shadowfax07 · 23/04/2015 19:34

I've just left a comment, not sure it won't be deleted nsoon though.

KenDoddsDadsDog · 23/04/2015 21:54

I can't post anymore !

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:00

What about Citizen's Advice? Since GoFundMe is not a charity - it advertises charitable causes but is actually a business in that it takes a fee and is the middle man between fundraiser and public. Would that qualify an investigation with Trading Standards?

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:01

*investigation regarding misleading information of the "product" - in this case a premature baby

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:02

*premature baby's needs.

SaggyAndLucy · 23/04/2015 22:06

OMG! I can't believe this is still going! do those parents have no shame?

londonrach · 23/04/2015 22:09

Still cant understand why any of the papers even if its just the local one hasnt picked this up. It must be effected them locally, that gym business and everytime they leave the house with dax. Surely the right moral thing to do is to give the money to the charity that helped them....

Stanky · 23/04/2015 22:10

The whole thing stinks. If they were proud of their fund raising efforts and their donation, they would be shouting about it in the press. It was obviously a pitiful amount, and they have kept thousands.

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:13

Btw, AbbeyRoadCrossing - sorry, I missed at first your post in response to mine. Yes, as you too, and undoubtedly many others here on MS, preemies do need a LOT of unexpected care and if you're lucky (as this couple appear to have been) this is confined to extra TLC. But in some other cases, extra monetary expenses are involved. I did read that this little baby had a problem with his heart. What that means, it is not clear. In any case, it appears that a clear explaination about what happened to the kind and generous donations given, is what anyone who questions the integrity of the parents, wants.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 23/04/2015 22:34

I must say I was surprised (in a good way) that they'd said he didn't have any issues. My 36 weeker (35 by my dates) has mild issues, and I thought Dax was 29 weeks? I can't imagine they'd really know at this stage until he starts talking and walking if there's going to be any long term difficulties.
I'm sure if they'd put something like "the insurance paid out, but as Dax's future is unclear at this stage we'd like to put the donations in a fund for his future care" most people would be ok with that. It's all the chopping and changing and unnecessary expensive purchases that's got everyone annoyed.

JoanHickson · 23/04/2015 22:39

You wouldn't know if it was his arriving early or if Dax would be destined to have learning difficulties anyways as the Dad is limited in that department.

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:42

Well put AbbeyRoadCrossing. That's seems exactly the issue

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 22:46

Of the duty of transparency.

Mischalively · 23/04/2015 23:08

Because I don't understand (please forgive me, as I am new to all this) whether the issue is the lack of transparency regarding where the money has gone. As I feel sometimes uncomfortable at personal jabs at, for example, intellect/looks/education of the parents. Please don't get me wrong. I do "get" the feeling of outrage regarding the misleading info which resulted in a LOT of money generously donated to a cause now unknown.

fluffymouse · 24/04/2015 08:26

mischa I think people are miffed, quite rightly, with the lack of honesty and transparency.

The comments about the father are a little unfortunate, as they detract from this. I think some people's outrage has led them to be critical over aspects they wouldn't be otherwise.

Lee, Katie and Dicky could put an end to all this by just being honest about where the money went. Even if that means saying they used it to pay off their BMW. At least that would be honest.

JoanHickson · 24/04/2015 09:07

The educational delay comment was in response to the poster previous to me showing concerned early gestational birth may cause a learning disability.

It is no secret Lee has issues, it is stated by Tricky Dicky on their page, that Lee has a limited grasp of the written language. TD didn't want to associated with the spelling and grammar in a post put on the page and wanted people to know they were Lee's own words.

The This Morning TV appearance further showed the poor grasp of English, for example Lee used "was" instead of "were" frequently. Lee was also challenging to comprehend due to his speech impediment. To overview that as limited isn't being anything other than truthful and observant.

I don't claim to have the greatest skills myself. I have a dyslexia diagnosis. I don't find it an insult to describe someone as limited when it is a true observation.

SouthWestmom · 24/04/2015 09:13

Joan your comments are disgusting. Don't dress them up as some kind of knowledge of inherited learning difficulties.

JoanHickson · 24/04/2015 09:43

You are entitled to your opinion. I don't agree with it.

AbbeyRoadCrossing · 24/04/2015 09:48

Argh! I wrote a really long reply and it's not posted, here goes again:

I didn't say Dax had a learning disability, the problems associated with prematurity are wide ranging from heart, lung, kidney, cerebral palsy, brain bleeds, fits, delay in motor skills. My point was it's very difficult to tell with a tiny baby. My DS is 7 months and I was told once he is 2 we'll have a clearer picture of how he's doing. So I don't think they can know for sure that Dax is fine right now.
I think he was 28 or 29 weeks and sadly over 50% of babies born at this gestation will have a disability. It doesn't matter if your father is a top scientist, it's all due to gestation and development in the womb.
A quick glance at the premature boards on mn will give you an idea.
