Minority interest perhaps, but did anyone see the Scottish leaders debate on Sunday?

I was shocked by the misogyny and, well, bad behaviour.

I thought Nicola was pretty shouty as well but going by your username I can guess your particular bias.

jimmurphysbrassneck · 13/04/2015 18:59

I thought the presenter was just as bad, and I thought Ruth was given short shrift too. My surprise was more to do with how the women were shouted down and talked over. At this stage, it's mostly performance and posturing, but i felt like I'd looked at something from the 70's. Re: shouty Nicola, she was 1 agin 3 for the most part.

to be honest I thought the whole thing was too shouty, too rushed, no clear format. The funniest bit was 'let Willie Rennie have a shot'

I saw it.

Sturgeon has thrown her bargaining position away now. If she's adamant SNP won't coalesce with the Tories, how eonegotiate a colatition with Labour? That's the only story, nationally.

Should this be in the new Scotsnet topic? Grin

This may cheer you up, I was shocked, but the butcher told me that he had been lifelong labour but was impressed by Ruth Davidson. True.

jimmurphysbrassneck · 13/04/2015 19:17

Arsenic. Do you work for/ read the Daily Mail? What are you talking about?

7 I can believe that. She seems a decent enough person, (for a meat eater Smile)

OOAOML. Yes, I agree with you. Maybe it was all stage managed to look like politicians do Jeremy Kyle, but it was pretty poor.
At least Willie Rennie got a shot!Wink

Was the one on Sunday the one with Gordon Brewer moderating? If so, it was absolutely dire moderating and everyone came off really badly.

The one moderated recently by James Cook that included the Greens was really good I thought. Davidson came across particularly well.

7to25 · 13/04/2015 19:30

Ha. Ha
Forgot I was speaking to a butcher and Jim Murphy is vegetarian!

SirChenjin · 13/04/2015 19:31

No-one came out of it very well (although I think Ruth Davidson did not too badly). I don't like these televised debates - nothing more than shouting matches, with none of the parties getting their point across and the emphasis on the 'personality' rather than the substance. Not a positive step forward in politics imo.

jimmurphysbrassneck · 13/04/2015 19:33

And despite the different political opinions, I still think the women were treated badly. So, for a relatively old (fifties) person, I'm very disappointed. Mr Murphy, and the crap interviewer were pompous twits. The women had to fight to be heard, and Willie Rennie lost points by behaving like a reasonable person, taking his turn.
