Not sure if this is the right place to post ?
I have cats and dogs and for the last month have had a little cat coming to my house starving hungry and cold at all hours of the day asked around and no one knows who it is. So yesterday I took it to the vets to see if it was microchipped. It was the vets called the owner who went mad and was extremely rude to the vet she said how dare u take her cat to the vets and demanded the vets delivered the cat to her- they refused after much discussion she reluctantly said she would pick it up I said if not collected I would adopt cat. But unfortunately she collected it. I now feel really bad and just wished I had done nothing
The cat had been missing for 5 weeks and is a little kitten Hmm

You did the responsible thing.

If you're really concerned that it's not being cared for adequately you could ring the RSPCA and tell them the story. They could get the owner details from the vets.

Well done you.
I don't really understand why people get cats when they clearly hate them. It's one thing to get a mouser (feral cat) if you live on a farm, but to get a cat that is brought up to live with a family and treat it like that is awful.
I hope kitten gets lucky and comes back to you, and I wouldn't be calling the owners next time.
