It's a dark blonde almost light brown

26Point2Miles · 10/04/2015 17:04

Er don't think that's really effective

But why would you?

Feminine · 10/04/2015 17:05

It does work a bit.
But really dries it out though.

ShatnersBassoon · 10/04/2015 17:05

Is she old enough to have a say in it?

MrsTerryPratchett · 10/04/2015 17:06

Just bleach it with peroxide. Brown hair is Hmm

dexter73 · 10/04/2015 17:06

If she wants to highlight it she could try a L'Oreal kit from Boots. Lemon juice isn't very effective.

ToadsJustFellFromTheSky · 10/04/2015 17:07

I've used lemon juice to lighten my hair before. Tbh it doesn't really lighten it that much. It's not really worth it.

WorraLiberty · 10/04/2015 17:08

Is she 9 months or 19 years old for example?

Finola1step · 10/04/2015 17:09

How old is she?

base9 · 10/04/2015 17:09

Depends how old she is and whether this is her idea or yours.

londonrach · 10/04/2015 17:11

Get some sun in if shes a teenager.

amothersplaceisinthewrong · 10/04/2015 17:11

Does she not get to say whether it is highlighted? And how old is she? And what is wrong with light brown/dark blonde hair

TheRealMaryMillington · 10/04/2015 17:12

why not go the whole hog? Hmm

WonderingWillow · 10/04/2015 17:17

Lemon juice really doesn't work! How old is she? If she's old enough, just take her to have some highlights done if she wants them.

expatinscotland · 10/04/2015 17:18

Rinse it in chamomile tea.

Fleecyleesy · 10/04/2015 17:19

Sounds a bit of a waste of time to me.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 10/04/2015 17:22

How old is she?

Chillyegg · 10/04/2015 17:23

Do not use sunin! It will fuck her hair up! You cant colour over it either!

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 10/04/2015 17:25

God I remember Sun -In, It turned me orange back in the day, don't use it ever!

NerrSnerr · 10/04/2015 17:25

I don't think it works too well. If old enough a highlighting kit would be better.

ThisFenceIsComfy · 10/04/2015 17:26

How old is your DD? This is crucial

ThisFenceIsComfy · 10/04/2015 17:27

Ah Sun-in. I remember when I was at school and we all used that.

EhricLovesTheBhrothers · 10/04/2015 17:28

How old is she?
13, ok. 3, not so much.

honeycrest · 10/04/2015 17:29

How old is she? I use john frieda go blonder spray to lighten my medium blonde hair and it works without drying my hair out. You could try that if she is old enough.

MaidOfStars · 10/04/2015 17:46

There's some shampoo stuff (John Frieda) that lightens quite gradually - I've used it and it really works. But you need a decent conditioner after it (not the matching lightening conditioner), otherwise your scalp falls off and your hair frizzles.

But I've also found lemon juice works as well, but only tried it in proper holiday sunshine (and only on the balcony, if there are lemons in the fridge).

TheCountessofFitzdotterel · 10/04/2015 17:49

Lemon juice attracts wasps. Bad idea (voice of experience).
