It's a dark blonde almost light brown

OP posts:
Discopanda · 10/04/2015 17:51

You could try chamomile tea, that lightens it slightly as well

MsAspreyDiamonds · 10/04/2015 17:54

Does she want it lighter or do you want her hair to go blonde? How old I as she? Abu to impose your choice on her.

Discounted · 10/04/2015 17:54

Interesting Maid. I've been using that John Frieda shampoo daily for about 3 years without any conditioner at all and my hair and scalp are in great condition. Strange how these products suit us all differently.

I can't say it makes that much difference though. My hair is fairly light blonde naturally and it maybe lifts it a bit, but not as much as a couple of days in the sun does.

I've been wondering about the spray honeycrest but a bit scared it will be just like SunIn....

MsAspreyDiamonds · 10/04/2015 17:56

Yabu not Abu. Bloody autocorrect!

RL20 · 10/04/2015 17:57

How old is she OP?
I agree that lemon juice does very little to lighten. If she's at an age where she can consent to it (which I would hope so?!) then you could take her to a salon. When I worked in a salon we coloured a few younger girls hair (ages about 13), with a type of lightening tint. So it's not as harsh as bleach, but obviously only lifts it's a shade or 2. Most salon brands will have something like that in their colour range.

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 10/04/2015 17:58

Still here OP?

RL20 · 10/04/2015 18:00

Oh and I'll add that of course not all salons would do this. We worked in a local village salon and did know of the girls and their families, and obviously only did it with written consent of their parent/guardian etc, and they were there with them for the appointment too.

I'm guessing its a baby who already has her ears pierced and wears as stupid headband with a gaudy flower on it.

partialderivative · 10/04/2015 18:14

What's wrong with her natural colour?

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/04/2015 18:19

Lordy I had a nasty shock then as saw MrsCampbellBlank and knew I hadn't written that.

OP - it really does very much depend on the age of your DD. I used to do lemon juice mixed with vodka when in my early 20's. Not sure it worked but it was very attractive to wasps.

Kiffykaffycoffee · 10/04/2015 18:27

DD (10) has done this. I also did it as a teenager. It's just a bit of fun. The combination of lemon juice + sunshine lightened her hair a bit, but the main (mane?) Grin attraction was squeezing the lemons and rubbing the juice in, then sitting out in the sun while the lemon juice worked its magic. A Harmless and fun way of passing the time on a sunny day in the school holidays. Would only recommend it for older children though, who can avoid getting the juice in their eyes.

ChestyNut · 10/04/2015 18:27

Gosh very similar names MrsBlack

MrsCampbellBlack · 10/04/2015 18:31

I know Chesty. Am sure mn should do an etiquette guide for such situations Wink

JigsawsAreAllLittlePieces · 10/04/2015 18:34

MrsBlack

I saw that and thought "blimey, she doesn't usually post like that" then realised it wasn't you.

monkeysaymoo · 10/04/2015 18:34

Good idea OP would probably avoid sun cream too if your away or people might not think she's been on holiday

TiggyOBE · 10/04/2015 19:07

OP is dead. Move along people.

SunsofAlanKey · 10/04/2015 19:13

Both my daughter and I have sun responsive blonde hair eg if the sun is hot our hair lightens, however if the sun is strong, then I plonk a hat on my daughters head. I would rather her be ok than have blonde hair and sunstroke, saying that it always gets lighter even with the hat in sunny months. As a teen I used to put lemon juice in my hair so it would got white white blonde - it just went crispy. So, don't do it, her hair will lighten naturally and if you do bleach it - it will grow out and make her look like she has roots. I am in sunny hot climbes at the moment - my hair is very blonde but will grow out in a couple of months and I will look like I dye my hair!!! Let nature do it's thing - she is only young (I am assuming)

YouMakeMyHeartSmile · 10/04/2015 19:24

Of course YANBU, who wants brown hair?

YouMakeMyHeartSmile · 10/04/2015 19:26

Are you talking about your 16 month old, OP?

Pyjamaschocolateandwine · 10/04/2015 19:31

Pointless thread unless we know her age op.

MaidOfStars · 10/04/2015 22:55

High fives to Discounted's scalp, a far more robust specimen than mine Grin

KingJoffreyFanciesDarylDixon · 10/04/2015 23:04

Won't putting honey in your hair attract bees?

I like bees. But not in my hair...

Didactylos · 10/04/2015 23:34

Covered in BEEEES....

squoosh · 10/04/2015 23:36

I thought 'Oh MrsCampbellBlack sounds out of sorts tonight'.
