Given that's because that's the only image you see whenever there is a picture showing their friendly call centre operatives just waiting to take your call?

I guess a grumpy old man who's having a bad day just wouldn't sell the company?

I work in a call centre. We have old men and ladies, young ones too, transgendered and cross dressers, ones with tattoos, plugs and facial piercing, and every colour of hair you can fathom.

Our companies pictures show very traditional looking people on the brochures though!

Everyone's so happy

we we don't have uniforms like some of those ones do, and I know all centres are different, but we are a happy bunch.
I spend all day helping people, and saving them money, so I really enjoy it. I work with people I love, get treated well, and thankfully I also get nice treats and bonuses too!

My DH worked in call centers a lot in the past, I can assure you he isn't an attractive smiley young woman .

To be fair most of the people in the call centre I worked in were young. But we weren't friendly or smiling! It was customer service so we were harassed and despairing of the human race.
