To be a bit miffed about this

Hi all,
I don't know if you remember a thread I started a while back, I worked at a hotel and was sacked from work for drinking a can of orange that was left in a room.
Apologies for starting a new thread but I didn't want to re- bump the old one as it was months ago.

So I started a new job at my old place, I didn't appeal my termination of employment as I accepted I was in the wrong and was willing to just put it down to experience.

A family member's MIL still works at the hotel and whilst I was on the phone to said family member, she mentioned she'd being talking to her MIL, and that a couple of days ago her MIL was in a room at work, the manager who reported me for drinking a can walked into her room, took a can out of the fridge, opened it and offered her a drink.

Family members MIL was quite shocked considering the example that had been made out of me a few months back.
Now this manager knows this woman is the MIL to a close family member of mine and she's done exactly what she reported me for (except the can I drank was left on the side).
I know I should just let it go over my head and not be bothered, there's nothing I can do about it in any case!

But it's really pissed me off, and I feel rubbish for feeling pissed off about it, but that manager knew doing that in front family member's MIL that it would get back to me and I feel like she's taunting me.

What a bitch manager

Jessiepops · 07/04/2015 22:59

I think it been too long since my sacking to do anything about it now.
All the other housekeepers admitted to drinking cans to this manager but she turned a blind eye, she had it in for me (I still don't know why though?!).

Every dog has their day, she'll get it some day but for now take a long slow breath and forget about her.
As for reporting her, how are you supposed to do that? You didn't see it

Jessiepops · 07/04/2015 23:13

You're bang on sandbrook, and that ship has long sailed.
Cousins MIL wouldn't put her job on the line reporting her (and I don't blame her, all the managers seem to stick together there).

Hi Jessie

I do remember your thread. I posted on it. I thought it was really harsh what happened. The drink that you drank had been left by someone who had already paid for the room and left and the can of pop was included in the room rate.

I don't know what you can do about it. Probably nothingSad

Hopefully what goes around comes around and she will get her comeuppance.

Flowers hope your new job is going ok.

I remember your last thread and the sanctimonious twaddle about the "theft" of the can of juice. I couldn't believe you actually lost your job over it!

Anyway, the bright side is you don't have to work with this dumb cow anymore or even have to look at her hypocritical face. She'll get hers Grin

waithorse · 08/04/2015 07:40

You can't report it, it would just bring you more hassle. She will get what's coming to her though.
