Seriously..i see so many90 yearolds id say..

50-60 middle aged

70 plus older

80 plus elderly

Saying that ive seen people in their20s who were elderly and some in their 80s id say were mid youth with their excericse classes and 'helping the elderly' (about 10-15 years younger) Who said age was just a. Number!!!

Middle aged is middle of your life. If you think middle aged if 35 then you must be expecting people to die at 70. Life expectancy is much longer than that.

John4703 · 07/08/2017 20:57

I'm wondering about this thread. I'm sort of planning a Lands End to John O Croats cycle ride in about three years time. My plan is to carry a tent and camp each night. Does the OP think I'll manage it as I am aiming to celebrate my 74th birthday during the ride.
Age is simply the number of times you have been round the sun.

BewareOfDragons · 07/08/2017 21:00

Considering the government wants everyone to work until they're 67, 68 these days, how can we say it's old?

It's not.

DrinkFeckArseGirls · 07/08/2017 21:05

OP is a DM "journalist" Hmm

DueNov · 07/08/2017 21:08

YABU. I'd say 50-60 middle aged. 60-70 old 80+ mega old. Grin

ExConstance · 07/08/2017 21:09

I'm 60 . I work full time, shop in top shop, enjoy new bands, go to spin class, have lovely swishy hair, DH is 62 and is a yoga teacher. I don't mind my numeric age but you can just fuck off if you want to label me and tell me I'm too old for dungarees and short skirts.

Bejazzled · 07/08/2017 21:10

I HATE ZOMBIES

Greggers2017 · 07/08/2017 21:10

I don't consider 60 old. My own mum is approaching 60, her mum and grandma are still alive.

user53592952153 · 07/08/2017 21:12

Would anybody like to buy some popcorn?

Giraffey1 · 07/08/2017 21:12

OP, let's wait until you are 60 and you can report back whether you are indeed 'old aged'.

MyCalmX · 07/08/2017 21:13

Wow Ex could you chuck any more ridiculousness at that post.

Wtf is swishy hair, you sound like a horses tail Hmm

Just because you go to spin class doesn't make you younger. Just fitter.

Can we just not embrace our age instead of trying to relive our teen years ffs.

PacificDogwod · 07/08/2017 21:14

"Old" is always 20 years older than you are Grin

PacificDogwod · 07/08/2017 21:15

This fred is OLD Shock

Die, zombie, die!!

I have one big problem saying that you aren't old when you are 60yo.
It's the fact that it's is then expected that you will be able to do a lot, have very few Heath issues and should be up to do everything a 35yo can do.
Except that we know that 64yo is the age by which more than half of people do have some health issues.

So yes, some people will still be very healthy, full of energy etc... my parents were at that age. They actually still are. But a hell of lot of other people aren't and I think it would be unfair to then expect them to be as fit as a 35yo iyswim
(I have the same issue with pushing the pension age back and back. A lot of people will not be physically able to carry on working until 68yo...)

2017SoFarSoGood · 07/08/2017 21:17

I remember thinking one of my granny's was really old. She acted, and dressed old, from what I now know is around 45. It seemed to be a choice. My DM is now 84 and is never home; I could not possibly find the energy to keep up with her social life and drinking habits

I am not old enough to retire but old enough to be so very tired.
I am not old enough to deserve a seat on public transport but I so hate to stand the whole ride.
I am not old enough to get senior discounts but am beginning to look longingly at them, whilst counting the years until I qualify.

It is a conundrum, this aging thing!

MyRedPepper · 07/08/2017 21:18

Oh fgs.
Why are people playing with Zombie Thread????

MsHarry · 07/08/2017 21:19

Well I'm 46 and don't feel middle aged. I think of 75 and over being old now but my dad is nearly 78, not completely grey yet, walks for miles, dances regularly and thankfully has no ailments, takes no medication.

MsHarry · 07/08/2017 21:20

Funnily enough sofar my mum always said those people were old when they were young and I agree. I know some 46 year olds that seem way older than me in mind and body.
