That with not even 5 weeks prior to the the general election not a single canvasser for any election party has not knocked on my door. If you want my support your self to me. How can you expect me to care if seemingly you don't

They don't knock, they just post shit through your letter box. I never hear from any of them at all Confused

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/04/2015 19:40

That's another thing though, LadySybil. I've not even had any leaflets either

The Tories came round last night. Dp missed the end of the chase and was most put out. He won't be voting for them.

Lib dem candidate is lovely. Our mp is standing down and the new lady is a very active member of our local community. She knows everyone and will come over at some point but she's phoned us.

Seriouslyffs · 03/04/2015 19:48

You don't live near me- I'm having to pace myself so my neighbours aren't getting 3 leaflets in a month!

toptomatoes · 03/04/2015 19:49

No leaflets or canvassers here!

LadySybilLikesSloeGin · 03/04/2015 19:50

Maybe they think your area is a safe seat so they don't need to bother?

I'm 37. No political party candidate has ever knocked on my door for a chat, I wish they would Sad

TheFairyCaravan · 03/04/2015 19:51

We haven't had anything either. I want our Tory MP to knock, he'll bloody wish he hadn't!

LadySybilLikesSloeGin · 03/04/2015 19:55
Grin
Icimoi · 03/04/2015 20:06

Seriously, does it make a difference to you? I was asked to help canvass and decided against, basically because I don't think it ever makes a jot of difference to anyone's vote.

JigsawsAreAllLittlePieces · 03/04/2015 20:10

We've only heard from the Tories (leaflet stuffed through)

LibDem won't call as the MP knocked once for our opinion on something and my husband got on his soap box and the poor guy was there for an hour and three quarters trying to escape. I was pmsl. Husband's pet rant and the MP said the key words. Oh what a mistake to make. Grin

Anyone else - not heard from.

CaptainAnkles · 03/04/2015 20:11

I've had no knocks on the door and no leaflets either. This area is a safe conservative seat though so maybe none of them bother trying.

KERALA1 · 03/04/2015 20:12

Our Tory candidate has knocked 3 times. We have had nice chats haven't the heart to tell him am not a Tory voter. Do admire his effort I must say.

MishMooshAndMogwai · 03/04/2015 20:12

I've not had anything either not that I would take any notice! Mind you looking at the cold caller thread it's probably best they don't Grin

Lioninthesun · 03/04/2015 20:15

I had lib dems over. Was mildly interested when they asked about whether I wanted 5k houses built nearby - I said no. He looked smug and said "Exactly! Because they will take up parking right?" I said "No, I am more worried that there aren't enough local school places for the kids here already and I had to learn to drive just to get my dd into a school." He had no idea about this, even though it affects over 70% of his area as there is only 1 primary school in the area with a tiny catchment.

treesntrees · 03/04/2015 21:13

only a UKIP leaflet here which is the first political leaflet I have had in the four years I have lived here. I will not be voting for them

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 03/04/2015 21:20

I'm in Nick Clegg's constituency. He hasn't been round yet. The Labour candidate comes every couple of weeks or so - he is working flat out for votes here.

The Tories don't have a hope in this corner, and so sadly have apparently not bothered campaigning here. Which is a shame, as I had so many things I wanted to bloody tell ask them.

MrsItsNoworNotatAll · 03/04/2015 21:25

They need not bother knocking here.

TedAndLola · 03/04/2015 21:26

Haven't had a leaflet or a knock but I'm not surprised. Extremely safe Tory seat Sad

TrulyTurtles · 03/04/2015 21:35

My mate almost made a ukip canvasser cry. Think he will be leafleting and running away now.

ChipDip · 03/04/2015 21:38

Yabu, why would one person knocking on your door make up your mind about who to vote for? There's plenty of research online you can do yourself.

Topseyt · 03/04/2015 21:43

We live in a very safe Conservative seat. We get the odd leaflet or newsletter thing in our post-box but usually very little else.

I can't recall any candidates ever knocking on my door during any election campaign.

chickenfuckingpox · 03/04/2015 21:54

the only one who popped over was the labour one who was asking me if i wanted a postal vote? as they have removed the polling stations close by this year nothing about politics at all he even filled it in for me as i had my little one all i did was sign it

Hassled · 03/04/2015 21:58

I'm surprised at your lack of leaflets. I am the local Labour leaflet dropper, and it's been a never-ending slog of working out which houses have barky dogs, which have impenetrable gates and which have letter boxes that are resistant to all forms of paper being pushed through. It is a marginal seat, though.

MrsCosmopilite · 03/04/2015 22:08

I've had some leaflets through - the Tory one went straight in the bin as it was awash with scaremongering about green belt 'loss' and other nonsense. The UKIP leaflet came with an opportunity to give feedback -which it got in spadefuls.

I'm not feeling inspsired by any of our local candidates

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 03/04/2015 22:36

Now don't get me wrong if a Tory cunt comes knocking. He/she'll get the lenght of tongue.
