So have had some work done. Had a quote which clearly stated that the price was for labour and materials and there would only be a change in price due to different materials requested, but would be discussed at the time and agreed.

No changes to original quote.

Work completed, late and very untidy.

Now requested a further £80
For in discussed materials...

Where do we stand??? What would you do?

tell them where to go

flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 21:22

My thoughts too... Meant to say requested £80 for 'undiscussed' materials!

seriously, they are so at it!

flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 21:30

Must be assertive ??

get your partner to do it of you have one

icelollycraving · 02/04/2015 21:38

Why should the partner do it?Hmm

ssd · 02/04/2015 21:40

cos the op doesnt really want to

Hmm for icelolly

ArtyBat · 02/04/2015 21:43

Is your quote in writing OP? If so, then you have the right of it I believe.

icelollycraving · 02/04/2015 21:45

If the quote is precise I would challenge it. It also would depend on the price of the job,for example if the cost was £150 then the extra is very large,if 5k not so much.
Be assertive, you'll be proud of yourself!

flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 21:46

Yep quote in writing and specifically said that any price increase wound be due to change in materials and would be discussed prior.

Husband happy to do it but I just wanted to make sure we weren't being unreasonable!

OP posts:
icelollycraving · 02/04/2015 21:47

Not unreasonable at all.

flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 21:47

Quote was £270 . Requested increase is £80 doesn't make sense x

OP posts:
flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 21:48

Altho think job took longer than expected not due to problems but due to inexperience

OP posts:
icelollycraving · 02/04/2015 21:50

No,question it.

flowerandrandd · 02/04/2015 22:07
