Stuck behind a Lady in asda making a complaint...

The freezer has ice in it Confused. She's complaining and has been for 5 minutes before stomping off because the freezer has some ice in it...

I mean really? What do you expect from a freezer.. Confused

its the type of ice... If it looks like frost... well thats normal..... If it looks like icecubes, the freezer has defrosted and refrosted at some point. It potentially means that all the food in it is a hazard to health (meat) or inedible (icecream)

I kind of see her point! Blush

WrappedInABlankie · 01/04/2015 18:31

It was frost lol like the snowy stuff!

She was outraged.. it made her hand cold as she had to scrape it off her birds eyes petit pois Grin

If food has frost on it - this means it has defrosted and then been re-frozen. I think she was right to be cross.

Cornettoninja · 01/04/2015 18:35

I could understand remarking on the ice stuff and being peeved you couldn't buy what you wanted, but she does sound precious.

You should have pointed her in the direction of the tinned peas to save her delicate constitution.

HoneySwampDragonInMourning · 01/04/2015 18:38

So she wasn't worried about the food being spoiled, she was annoyed because the freezer made her hand cold?

WrappedInABlankie · 01/04/2015 18:47

Yes Grin

She was complaining because the frost made her hand cold lol

My DS works in asda. Someone once complained the toilet was out of order. She was on the checkout. Feck knows what they expected her too do about it.

ThatBloodyWoman · 01/04/2015 21:51

I wouldn't buy from a freezer full of frosty ice.
No point having a go at the checkout though.
I would go to customer services and ask for gloves.

fredfredgeorgejnr · 01/04/2015 21:59

Frost on the outside of a store freezer does not mean the items have been thawed, just that warm moist air from the surrounding air has entered the freezer - if the freezer doesn't have doors, or if the doors are left open this is quite likely.

I also wonder the low humidity that supermarkets often have to help with this contributes to it feeling colder, but I don't know if this is actually true as I'm never sure if low humidity really does make it feel colder when you're not actually sweating or anything anyway.

ilovesooty · 01/04/2015 23:18

People actually go round Asda auditing this sort of thing. I imagine if a freezer isn't functioning correctly they'd be glad someone reported it so that they can rectify it before the auditor's visit.
And a check out operator would surely be expected to alert the appropriate member of staff to the toilet issue. Quite apart from customer convenience they form part of the audit as well.

Fluffyears · 01/04/2015 23:34

This is why I hated customer service. I don't want to have to give a shit when idiots complain.

WrappedInABlankie · 02/04/2015 12:23

But the freezer was working Confused it was just some frost... On the packet...
