To think she's overdoing it?

My friend has a dream. I won't say what due to the possibility of being identified.

She is working in a demanding job 8-4 5 days a week. Then works 6-10 Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday. Saturday's and Sunday's are all taken up with her second job. Thursday nights are a THIRD job Shock She is also doing some 'work from home'.

She is cheery, smiley, but pale, has spots (not meant bitchily, just looks tired) and I really worry she's affecting her health.

Aibu to think working seven days a week like that is way too much?

It is way too much. Have you told her you are worried?

MrsFlannel · 29/03/2015 14:22

YANBU but all you can do is help her. You can't advise her to stop as she's obviously determined. Maybe cook for her sometimes?

Is this short-term/is there an end in sight? Does she have DCs or other family commitments?

SurlyCue · 29/03/2015 14:25

Shes an adult, i assume not being forced into it, its up to her, she clearly thinks the pay off will be worth it.

goldfisharesilver · 29/03/2015 14:28

No, no other family commitments. This is why I am looking out for her - I know I sound like a busybody and I know that she is an adult but she's quite young and has no support around her really.

Some people are just like that though. They're all work work work.

Littlef00t · 29/03/2015 14:36

What are her reasons for working so hard? Is she saving for something, low paid jobs and just getting by, splashing the cash, trying to progress career wise?

It does sound like far too much but if it gets her ahead and allows her to be more flexible when she has family might be an inspired idea.

She'll burn herself out if she doesn't rest. That can't be maintained for a long period of time. Short term yes, but forever more, no. She'll make herself ill.
