To think that Simon Cowell is actually a bit of a tosser?

Just that really. I used to really like him, but over the past few years I've really started going off him. I think he's an epic megalomaniac who doesn't treat people very well, when he gets bored of them or they stop making him money he tosses them onto the scrap heap.

He also looked completely ridiculous at the Brit awards when he got up to accept an award on behalf of One Direction. Like some old relic from days gone by.

Oh and why do you never read negative stories about him in the press? He apparently gets another mans wife pregnant and we're supposed to congratulate him for it? Can you imagine if the boot was on the other foot?

I just him really obnoxious now.

He may be all of the above but I do think he adds something to the XFactor when he appears on it and yes, I like the show too.

No-one "really" knows him do they.

squoosh · 28/03/2015 18:44

I actually don't think he's gay. I think he's just quite a camp straight man.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 28/03/2015 18:56

This is a personal attack on somebody as a person

He presides over shows that can humiliate people in front of an audience, BGT for example, I'm sure he can take a dose of Mumsnet chat.

MagicMojito · 28/03/2015 18:59

I actually really like him Blush I think he's got really kind eyes and just seems really friendly! Its actually surprised by the replies on this thread!

MagicMojito · 28/03/2015 19:02

Embarrassing over use of the word really there.

christycreme · 28/03/2015 19:07

If having to, I'd rather shag Simon Cowell any day other than Russell Brand. I can't stand his stupid hair flicking or starey weird eyes. Brand really is what I call a major twat.

ARoomWithoutAView · 28/03/2015 19:09

Judgey it doesn't offend me.
Nothing offends me.
Nor so much (your words).
Just that I think a lot of threads on here are becoming a bit...troll like....almost lazy. I think that is the word I wanted to find. Yep lazy like do you not think X is a twat for doing Y.
Yeah....cool....great stuff! Hmm

ARoomWithoutAView · 28/03/2015 19:13

who doesn't treat people very well

I bet he has done more and raised more for charitable causes than you Judgey

Sometimes even on X Factor he says how it is. For him. You say how it is for you Judgey on MN Factor.

I don't see Simon Cowell coming on here to defend himself against you. You can take a pop at him then run. Meanwhile he is doing all those judgmental things, and probably even tonight may be raising £10,000 for a charity. But you don't know that do you Judgey?

Nope, hit and run.

ARoomWithoutAView · 28/03/2015 19:15

Oh and why do you never read negative stories about him in the press?

Cowellgate I guess Judgey

Great name, by the way.

CunningCat · 28/03/2015 19:16

The harem of ex girlfriends know all his secrets, so he keeps them sweet!
In our house we refer to him as the dark lord! He scares me.

WayfaringStranger · 28/03/2015 19:18

I used to volunteer for a charity that supports children, adults and families who live with learning disability. Simon donates a huge amount of money to the charity and attends the annual dinners, it's all done very quietly. I suspect he does this for other charities too. For that reason, I think YABU.

Koalafications · 28/03/2015 19:18

Did anyone see the Lois Theroux meets Max Clifford programme? Simon Cowell wasn't particularly famous then but was one of Max's people and he showed up everywhere that Max did. It was really embarrassing.

Not a big fan of SC, can't stand programmes like BGT and X-Factor.

But the worst bit about SC are those bloody awful boot cut jeans and cuban heels, WTF is that all about?! I get he needs to extra height but FFS.

PeteCampbellsRecedingHairline · 28/03/2015 19:24

I love Blind Gossip. Have been Shock at the 1D stories.

Also don't think SC is gay, just likes having lots of women on the go.

christycreme · 28/03/2015 19:25

The "harem" don't have to stick around really do they. He does do squillions for charity. I like him more now. I also like the fact he wears what "he" wants to wear.

Dowser · 28/03/2015 19:36

Jimmy saville did squillions for charity and that is not saying SC is a paedo.

I went off Simon cowell when I learnt he put up bail for Jonathon king.

ARoomWithoutAView · 28/03/2015 19:37

You are right Wayfaring Thank you for real world comment. You have made my week Smile.

Famous and well known people get slated in the press just for being famous and because is sells. Cheap trash. Hang around shit and you get like shit. Buy newspaper X because it always tells you what you want to hear.

Positive people help other people and guess what, its infectious. It isn't rocket science surely? Why do so many people who have made their way in life so giving? IME they want to give something back.

The opposite of giving is taking. I see more of that on here the last 12 months than giving.

christycreme · 28/03/2015 19:48

You are 100 percent right there ARoom.

Do you know for a "fact" that Simon Cowell put up bail for Jonathon King. That's a pretty bold statement to make Dowser.

christycreme · 28/03/2015 19:55

Just googled it.... apparently he did :/

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 28/03/2015 20:04

I think it's possible to be weird, possibly massively in the closet, and not terribly likeable, and still give money to charity. Giving money to charity proves very little about a person, but yep, it's a good thing to do.

Basically, there's room for SC to be all the things on this thread.

As an aside though, I have also read reports of Jonathan King's bail being met by SC.

StillStayingClassySanDiego · 28/03/2015 20:08

I watched the Loius Theroux show first time round < gimmer> and MC prided himself on keeping SC out of the press.

I imagine Simon's loyalty stretches far.

seaoflove · 28/03/2015 20:15

I can imagine a man with a gargantuan ego who is accustomed to being fawned over by everyone he meets would also enjoy the kudos that comes with donating lots of money to charity.

Not saying that he isnt also being very altruistic, but giving money to charities doesn't prevent someone from also being a bit (or a lot) of a knob, and he might well get something out of it too.

Dowser · 28/03/2015 20:15

Yes.

Koalafications · 28/03/2015 20:17

StillStaying I feel old now, how long ago would that have been on TV?

Koalafications · 28/03/2015 20:18

2002 Shock
