D's is in a rosource base. On Thursday the staff had a meeting and all locked themselvs in a room. The young people were all put upstairs. One young person then broke a shelf and was threatening the other young people with a plank of wood.woulc it be wrong to report this?

Why did the staff lock themselves in? How do you know they were locked in?

Who told you that the children were unsupervised? It seems a bit odd. It could be absolutely accurate or be from one persons point of view.

Ask for an explanation from the staff first. Then make a formal complaint if necessary. Ask for a copy of the school's complaints procedure to help you.

Having had a child cared for in an autism base I can quite easily believe that this happened and that it will be repeated.

Report it but don't expect it to believed. Gas lighting and outright lying was commonplace amongst the staff who cared for DD1 and the senior management team consistently turned a blind eye and denied every complaint.

Another example of the risks you take by paying untrained people peanuts to care for the most vulnerable members of our society.

Is a resource base a PRU? How old is D?

I'm assuming the op means resource base or additionally resourced provision.

It's a provision inside a mainstream school or sometimes stand alone-ish that gets additional funding to deal with sen, often a specific SEN or range.

Who said they were all by themsleves? How old are the students involved? The door would been locked. I would certainly want to talk to the staff to find out what had happened.
