This morning I had a cold call from Domestic & General offering me a "fantastic 25% saving" on extended warranty on my new fridge-freezer as I'm already a customer. They quoted me prices for the reduced warranty and I asked them to call me back so I would have a chance to check the online prices.
Surprise surprise when I checked the discount was actually only 13%!
I chose to check because I was called last year with a similar offer but when I checked the discounted prices were actually the same as the non discounted price online
Both times when I told the person on the phone that they were actually misleading their customers all I was told was that they would pass it on to their manager.
This has to be illegal surely? If it happened in a shop then trading standards would have something to say.
Should I try to report it? Though I wouldn't know who to report it to. It's mis-selling isn't it?
Rant over!
