At 5'3 and 10 stone 11lbs. I know I'm overweight but not by that much!

You said it though...she probably didn't realise the word "plus" would be so offensive.

PurpleSwift · 26/03/2015 12:14

I'm the same height as you and I am heavier than you by quite a bit and I'm a size 14 in most high street stores. Where are you shopping that means you're in the plus size section?! Maybe it's your body shape?

ragged · 26/03/2015 12:15

If you walk into Evans and you like the clothes & they fit you well, what is the problem???

NeedABumChange · 26/03/2015 12:15

14 IS plus sized and I'd say that size 12 is too for a petite person.

MrsFlannel · 26/03/2015 12:15

Purple she's not. Someone mentioned her in relation to plus size clothing.

MrsFlannel · 26/03/2015 12:16

Bum seriously...12 is NOT plus size for a petite person! My Mum is 5 foot on the nose and wears a twelve. She's slim!

Opopanax · 26/03/2015 12:18

Are you quite pregnant then? Weighing that much if you are heavily pregnant is a bit different from if you are just overweight!

CrystalCove · 26/03/2015 12:23

Bum you are talking complete rubbish, size 12 is not plus size, even for someone petite.

Springtimeconcert · 26/03/2015 12:30

I'm slightly more at present because of pregnancy. I haven't put on loads due to being sick!

No - I said something about being excited to go shopping as there was more choice and she said well there's not that much choice in plus sizes surely!

Feel huge now!

OP posts:
Opopanax · 26/03/2015 12:33

What size do you actually wear when not pregnant?

Springtimeconcert · 26/03/2015 12:33

12 generally

TheJiminyConjecture · 26/03/2015 12:38

No - I said something about being excited to go shopping as there was more choice and she said well there's not that much choice in plus sizes surely!

Ouch. Any chance she was commenting in general rather than you shopping there?

MrsFlannel · 26/03/2015 12:39

so you're pregnant and you said you were looking forward to normal clothes meaning AFTER pregnancy and she then intimated you'd need to be buying plus sizes even after pregnancy.

She's a rude cow.Ignore. Some folk are just bitchy.

Springtimeconcert · 26/03/2015 12:41

Yeah, the insinuation was that I always need plus size clothes and I was shocked but some here seem to agree 11lbs overweight is Evans territory which surprised me.

ragged · 26/03/2015 12:43

DD is 5' 1.5" and wears a size 4-6.

Real cow if she presumed plus sizes for you; are you sure she wasn't speaking about herself or just generally postpartum ladies? Put on your thickest rhino skin when you next see her around.

TheFecklessFairy · 26/03/2015 12:45

On our local Selling Site there was someone selling ladies clothes...........Extra Large.......Size 14 Shock

Aeroflotgirl · 26/03/2015 12:46

I am 10 stone, do 45 mins of kickboxing cardio, I also watch what I eat, I am a size 10/12. Where did 14/16 come from? That body calculator thing is inaccurate.

squizita · 26/03/2015 12:46

I'm 5"1, and post Xmas about 10 stone... I fit size 10 then. So I doubt you should be looking in plus size shops as the stock might be too big.y DM is 5"8 and size 16 abd she browses them but also shops in more general shops size wise.

SoonToBeMrsB · 26/03/2015 12:49

It's funny how people of wildly differing weights can wear the same size - I'm 5' 4" and 14st 7lbs but wear a 16, when people here are wearing 14-16 at several stones lighter than me!

OwEmGee · 26/03/2015 12:49

I count plus size as anything you cannot buy in a normal high street store (Next, H&M, Oasis etc....) so to me, plus size is anything above a 16.

I vary between a 12, 14 and a 16 in some places. I am 5.4 and 11.11, I do not consider myself plus size despite being overweight.

Opopanax · 26/03/2015 12:50

Blimey, I certainly wouldn't class a size 12 as plus size! It might be overweight, depending on body shape/size/frame, but not plus size.

ouryve · 26/03/2015 12:52

I'm an inch taller and a couple of pounds heavier and definitely a bit overweight. I fit a 14 from most shops, though.

rockybalboa · 26/03/2015 12:52

Can't be plus size. I'm 5ft 3 as well and very overweight at 13st 2 but I'm comfortably a 14-16. Plus size is size 18 upwards isn't it?

squizita · 26/03/2015 12:52

TheMoa really? Pre dd I was 5"1 and 9 1/2 -10 stone. Big bum, 26 inch waist so clearly all the weight was in the bum. I was size 12 in trousers across the board. I was also still just the top end of green on bmi most of the time.

I'm quite into clothes and never wear anything I'll fitting or over stretched.

rockybalboa · 26/03/2015 12:54

Ah, I've just seen your 12.30 update. Clearly the woman who said that is just a dopey cow. Ignore....
