AIBU to give up on Zulily? Orders cancelled last minute yet again...

Used to like them, took a couple of weeks for goods to arrive but generally pretty good. Lately however, total nightmare with things not arriving, being promised and then orders cancelled at the last minute when they've been saying they're just delayed. I ordered eight items in February and last night got an email to say they're cancelling seven of them as they can't get them from their suppliers. The eighth item did eventually arrive, but only last week, so 5 weeks after I'd ordered. Most of the stuff is children's holiday clothes, UV protective suits etc but as we're going away this weekend, I've now got to find time to go and buy what I thought was going to be delivered before we leave.

Surely online shopping was meant to make things easier, not lead to a last minute rush when goods didn't appear?! Shocking customer service too - no explanations, just automatically generated emails saying orders have been cancelled as suppliers have let them down or some such. Their whole business model is dependent on their suppliers shipping on time, surely? Right, off to rebuy and still don't have the refunds yet as they take payment at the time of order but need five days to return payments apparently...

It looks like they're now working totally from their US office and everything seems to be getting shipped from there. We've had loads of things cancelled in the last couple of months and have given up buying anything unless we really love it and can't get it anywhere else.

My mum ordered some things that didn't arrive. She complained and was told they were being dispatched from Boston or similar and that it could takes weeks to arrive. Not impressed.

I love their prices, but I find that their $$$ shipping costs and long waits to receive the items deter me from ordering. I often put items in my cart, and end up not ordering because of the shipping costs. I don't mind paying $8 or $10 shipping, but not if I have to wait three weeks to get my stuff. Sometimes the shipping is almost half the cost of the item!

I'm in Ohio, the US Postal Service should only take 4 or 5 days to deliver an item to me from Boston, but it doesn't, it's weeks. UPS and Fedex would be even faster than that.

I know they don't usually ship out the items until the "event" is over, but the events usually only last a few days; they should have things delivered well before they do.

I'm glad it's not just me then but it's a shame! I'm in the US too, east coast, I could have driven to Boston if they'd had stock!
