My dad can stink the toilet out. And DS is the same. How can someone so small just make such smelly farts?

It's impressive. Of course - the response is going to be - "well, my farts are smelly as well and I can stink the house out as much as DH"

if theyre really stinky, its often because youve eaten something youre not really tolerating properly. It aint a male thing, but they could both be intolerant to the same thing

My DS can empty a lift. I don't know how he does it.

It's diet. On my low carb high fat diet I don't fart. At all. If I do it's a sure fire warning I've strayed from the path of LCHF!

Well, it's usually a sign of poor digestion/poor diet. And on average women do eat more vegetables and other foods that promote healthy gut bacteria. So you could be right.

My DS eats the same as I do, though! But my ex, his dad, does have a sensitive stomach, so maybe I need to keep an eye on what sets him off.

He is not known for a love of fruit and vegetables despite best efforts. I think it must be bacillus fartus maximus in there sometimes.

It's because (imo) he eats too fast. He gobbles his food in three seconds and then spends all night farting.

The worst farter I know is a very sweet pre-teen girl. You would think either she is her 90-yo grandpa, or that she ate him. She can make you tear up from the horror.

Gut bacteria are fascinating. Lots of evidence they may play a role in weight and in health in general. It is possible to get someone's faeces who has good bacteria, mix it up and then get it into your intestines to provide healthy bacteria.

plenty of vegetables are hard to digest for a lot of people. Cauliflour, parsnips. Also any legumes, lentils, chickpeas, kidney beans etc will often be a culprit. Also gluten, if you eat a lot of bread and youre not good with it

My DH stinks so bad. How is it possible when we eat mostly the same stuff? He also rarely seems to have a proper solid shit and he's regular as clockwork but OH MY GOD, foul, just bloody foul.

It's a race for me to get through the bathroom in the morning before he unleashes hell. We desperately need to move house to get a 2nd WC, which is a bit extreme based on his bowel movements isn't it!

It's diet related. It may be common to have the stench doom emanating from your rear, but it's not NORMAL :)

What's causing it will depend on the individual, but it's often milk (butter and cheese won't necessarily have the same effect), and grain and/or FODMAP foods. Sugars causing changes to the composition of your gut biome can make the whole thing worse too.

Let's just say, dietary changes (as above) have considerably changed the quality of life of those who share the air with my previously gassy family members!
