Village group, it says 'does anyone know who this cat belongs to as the owners never seem to let it in and I am tempted to take it home and show it some love'

Followed by a picture of the cat laying outside my front door soaking up the sun!Shock

Bloody cat doesn't want to come in, it wants to lay on the step in the sunshine you nosy baggage.Angry

i got accused of cat abuse because i recommended feliway and because i told them that there was nothing wrong with catnip plant my cat loved it and all it did was make her a little stoned and dribbly i gave it too her occasionally especially before long journeys in the cat basket i was called a cruel cat abuser they demanded my address so they could "rescue" my pets then accused me of being a drug addict because clearly anyone who allows her cat to eat catnip to calm her before stressful journeys must take drugs right? Hmm i gave them the address of the local police station Grin then i left the facebook page i love animals but some people get obsessive!

Like hell is the cat unaware - I will put money on the cat putting it on a neglected look for the woman who keeps looking at him.....

TheBookofRuth · 23/03/2015 20:52

I'd wonder if you owned the (clearly very healthy, well-cared for) cat that's been wandering up and down my street on and off for the past two days, trying to persuade suckers like to invite it in. But he has his full compliment of legs.

weeblueberry · 23/03/2015 20:58

I've had to actually unfollow my local missing pets group on Facebook because virtually every day there's some person saying 'I don't recognise this cat so it must be a stray' followed by a dozen people saying 'oooh poor thing. Take it to the vets/local cat rescue'. I make a Hmm face every bloody time and wonder about the poor fricken owner whose cat has just gone a wandering and is suddenly picked up by these busybodies. Angry

Unless the cat looks malnourished or injured just leave the bloody thing alone. Boils my piss it does...

BananaDrama34 · 23/03/2015 21:07

I have to admit I did something similar. A cat kept coming to sit on my front step and ran into my house each time I opened the door to leave. I put a picture of it on a local fb group asking if it belonged to anyone. It turned out it was my neighbours who moved in at the same time as the cat appeared!! I was heavily pregnant so use baby brain as my excuse for not linking the two. Blush

miniavenger · 23/03/2015 21:08

YANBU OP, did anyone reply to your comment?

pepperfish · 23/03/2015 21:11

I work in a vets - we do get the occasional busybody bringing in 'neglected' or 'homeless' cats. Often missing an eye or a bit of tail for that authentic street urchin look, with a perplexed air about them as to why they've ended up at the vets again with a total stranger.

I can't help but feel sorry for the wearisome owners, registered on the microchip, who come to collect their cat for the 2nd time that month.

ClaimedByMe · 23/03/2015 21:26

The other thing about the FB missing pet pages is the amount of people that post because their cat is "missing" - fluffy has been missing since 8am in such and such an area, hasnt been back yet - its only fekin 9am!!

LadyDeadpool · 23/03/2015 21:28

I'm highly amused by your username/post Grin

Charlotte3333 · 23/03/2015 21:33

Haha this is brilliant. Someone on our local 'Spotted' page posted a picture of our angry boy cat Fake Timmy with the message "Does anyone know where this cat lives, it keeps shitting down my outdoor drain and it stinks the garden out now it's summer".

Cue local friends breaking their necks to tag me and announce "Look, Charlotte, even your cat's a naughty bastard, no wonder the children are delinquents". Quite.

Monstermissy36 · 23/03/2015 21:39

I also spent 900 quid having my cats leg removed... Everyone's always 'ahhhs' at him when they see him like I've sawed it off myself just to be spiteful Hmm I think cats should all have 3 legs he fits so much nicer on me fit cuddled now we can really snuggle up Grin

nickelbarapasaurus · 23/03/2015 21:40

keep it inside?
oh dear lord!

AliceLidlLovesWindlePoons · 23/03/2015 21:41

OP you're going to have to tell them that you can't have a cat flap because your neighbour can fit through it. Wink

But I would start posting a lot of 'pampered cat' photo's on that page.

This is the cat having salmon for dinner while the rest of you get toast. This is the cat sleeping on the bed while DH is relegated to the floor. That kind of thing.

MimsyBorogroves · 23/03/2015 21:49

Please don't tell them you paid to have his leg removed even with the best of veterinary intentions - just post a picture of a saw and a peg leg. Yarr.

I always wanted a 3 legged cat. I'd call it Tripod. My StupidCat (who fell out of a window, onto his face) will no doubt end up with a few less limbs throughout his life. He's already missing teeth.

NorbertDentressangle · 23/03/2015 21:52

Keith your cat sounds like it would pull a stunt like this too. Grin

(sorry tried to post pic direct but it wouldn't work)

No further comments I'm afraid.

I was quite looking forward to a bun fight but they've backed off a bit now.Grin

CatthiefKeith · 23/03/2015 21:54

Funny you should post that pic. Dsis owns my cats brother, who went missing for a week. The day after she put the posters up on all the local lamp posts he turned up, then followed her round the streets while she took them all down again GrinGrinGrin

Our cat came home once with a tag round his collar which said 'you need to feed your cat more, he has been in other people's houses!'. I was like WTF when I saw it and went door knocking to find out who it was! It turned out to be a lovely, but eccentric old dear, heart kind of in the right place, but very lonely. I felt suitably disarmed after leaving her home Grin

NorbertDentressangle · 23/03/2015 21:58

Grin it's in his genes to be a piss-taker then
