And wonder what the creators were smoking when they wrote it?

I love adventure time, it does take a whole to get your head round the oddness of it. But I love it.

Gumball cracks me up, especially the episode where Richard is driving gumball to school.

Gumball: Dad, why do we have to go to school?
Richard: So you can get a job.
Gumball: But why do I need a job?
Richard: So you can earn money.
Gumball: But why do I need money?
Richard: To buy the stuff that the TV makes us want.
Richard: Because if you didn't buy stuff, everyone would be out of a job and no one would have any money.

Gumball: Wait, so I have to work for the rest of my life to pay for stuff that I don't want, just so that everyone else can suffer the same horrible fate as me?

hopping that's very Wizard-of-Oz of you!

Damnautocorrect · 23/03/2015 11:56

How could I miss out regular show, I can't walk past a golf cart without smirking. Loved the friend zone episode and the Margaret song.

Clarence is also growing on me.

molyholy · 23/03/2015 11:58

We are massive Adventure Time fans in our house. We also love Regular Show. Love all the 80's stuff in it. I quite like Steven Universe Blush

Mistlewoeandwhine · 23/03/2015 12:18

I adore Adventure Time. It is pure pleasure to watch. Mind you, I did do a lot of acid when I was younger...

GirlAnachronism · 23/03/2015 12:21

I may have LSP tattooed on me....

However I love Steven Universe and Gravity Falls a lot more, they are just brilliant.

weeblueberry · 23/03/2015 13:00

I LOVE Adventure Time. It's so unpredictable and cleverly written. Accessible for kids but can be appreciated on totally different leb by adults.

We're big LSP fans in this house. Grin

avocadotoast · 23/03/2015 13:39

Bair, yep, that one! Grin

Hopping, isn't it set like a thousand years after a nuclear war? (The Great Mushroom War.) There are a lot of theories out there but that one really rings true. (I know what more than is healthy about Adventure Time haha.)

avocadotoast · 23/03/2015 13:40

Also, for adult fans of AT, I would recommend checking out Bee and Puppycat. It's by Natasha Allegri, who's worked on AT from the start. It's not really suitable for kids, but it is great. Afaik there are only 4 episodes so far tho...

PonyoLovesHam · 23/03/2015 15:36

Is that on netflix avocado? (I know I could look at home later but thought I'd ask you/place mark Wink)

avocadotoast · 23/03/2015 17:22

No, it's on YouTube Smile

PonyoLovesHam · 23/03/2015 17:23

Ah I will look it up. Thank you! Thanks

ScotsWhaHae · 23/03/2015 17:26

I love Adventure Time!

Has anyone seen Clarence? I think it's hilarious!

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 23/03/2015 17:52

I thought the same as avocado. I think it's post apocalyptic /atomic war world. There is an episode set in the future and there is a chunk out of the earth.

Damnautocorrect · 24/03/2015 10:10

There's some fantastic adventure time jewellery on etsy for any fans.

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/03/2015 10:58

absolutely LOVE adventure time - fave episode so far being the one with the bears having a rave inside the belly of a monster

CuppaTeaAndAJammieDodger · 24/03/2015 10:59

clip

WhereIsMyFurryHat · 24/03/2015 11:00

It's brilliant. My H and I watch it with our older two a lot.

Cartoons that can appeal to a 7 year old and an adult are great, especially after years of cbeebies.

ScotsWhaHae · 24/03/2015 11:59

Have you seen the adventure time Dr Marten boots?

Allstoppedup · 24/03/2015 12:07

Love it in our house too. Watched it before DCsBlush now my 15 month old claps if he hears the theme tune.

I agree with PP it's clever, witty, unique and has really lovely, positive messages and role models.

I wish I had a best friend as close as Jake. Grin

HouseAtreides · 24/03/2015 12:17

Another house full of AT lovers here :) It's way more interesting than your average cartoon fare.
We have the Everything Burrito game- great fun :o

JennyOnTheBlocks · 24/03/2015 12:25

ancient psychic tandem war elephant, anyone?

i get confused as to why Gumball doesn't have a gumball machine in it, but that other cartoon does?

i've always loved cartoons, even when the DSs were small I'd watch them Grin

ChoochiWhoo · 24/03/2015 12:30

It really is ...my dh was like ...this is for kids? [Confused]

JennyOnTheBlocks · 24/03/2015 12:32

when DS1 stayed over christmas, he rolled his eyes when DD wanted to watch AT back-to-back (she's autistic, you have to watch a series, not a programme Grin )

he now watches it at home

he has no children
