And wonder what the creators were smoking when they wrote it?

Does anyone think it's not that suitable for kids? Don't get me wrong it's great but some things are a bit adult themed.

Has anyone seen the murder mystery train episode with the creepy conductor guy who is very creepy towards Finn ,I think this is a bit more adult geared

I also love the horse spying on Finn and jake at bedtime

hazeyjane · 22/03/2015 21:42

i think there is stuff that goes over their heads - but my 9, 8 and nearly 5 year old all love it - dd1 is turning into a mixture between marceline and lumpy space princess, dd2 loves princess bubblegum, and ds plays finn battling the ice king. i am often surprised at what the older girls DO get.

I love the fact that the females in it are all awesome in different ways, and the way that the girls and boys get to be just friends. The songs are great too - dd2 knows them all off by heart!!

Charlotte3333 · 22/03/2015 21:42

I love it, Lumpy Space Princess is hilarious, in one episode she yelled at another character "come back when you're ready to get serious about loving me", it went straight over the DC's heads but I laughed like a drain. Hilarious programme.

hazeyjane · 22/03/2015 21:43

..oh and the creepy conductor is Jake!

exmrs · 22/03/2015 21:44

What channel is gum ball on? Not heard of this is it like adventure time?

MerryKat · 22/03/2015 21:45

I love adventure time but I love gumball more! Watch them with my daughter!

hazeyjane · 22/03/2015 21:46

i don't think it is as good as adventure time (but that's just opinion!) it isn't as surreal.

Permanentlyexhausted · 22/03/2015 21:51

I love all three (Adventure Time, Regular Show and Gumball) although I think Gumball probably has to be my favourite.

But Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe, and worst of all, Clarence - I'd rather stick pins in my eyes!

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 22/03/2015 22:16

Uncle Grandpa, Steven Universe and Clarence are utter shite.

We had some Regular Show punchies episodes that led to a short ban.

I remember an Adventure Time episode with Tree Trunks and her pig bf in the Rose Garden. DH and I both watched separately and came to the conclusion it seemed like they were having oral sex.

nikki1978 · 22/03/2015 22:23

Gumball is hilarious. Adventure time seems a bit wrong somehow...

Marcelinewhyareyousomean · 22/03/2015 22:25

Can't link on my phone.

dietcokeandwine · 22/03/2015 22:25

I loathe all of it. Adventure Time, Gumball, Uncle Grandpa, Regular Show, Steven Universe.

I have attempted to watch each of them with DS1 (10) and admitted defeat each time.

They are all as shite as each other. Complete weirdo twaddlefest and I find it a sad state of affairs that so many people see them as essential viewing!

Thank God for having two younger DC who can still be limited to Cbeebies and Baby Einstein videos...

avocadotoast · 22/03/2015 22:28

I bloody love Adventure Time and I don't even have kids Blush we tried to get my little cousin to watch it but I think she's still a little young.

(Can't remember which pp it was that mentioned it, but the horse that watches Finn & Jake is a guest spot by Kate Beaton's fat pony Grin it pops up in another episode too. Not aimed at kids, but I highly recommend Kate Beaton's comics, they're so great - harkavagrant.com)

iklboo · 22/03/2015 22:32

Because In The Night Garden is near Proustian in construct.

Clarence is utter bilge.

Bair · 23/03/2015 08:21

This one Avocado?

Stinkle · 23/03/2015 08:47

My kids love Adventure Time.

I find it utterly baffling. Although of the stuff on Cartoon Network baffles me to be honest.

I quite like Gumball, but the rest of it is just odd

RattieofCatan · 23/03/2015 10:17

Its so odd and nonsensical, dp thinks its brilliant and has watched it for years. I can't help but watch it or overhear it and I do find it amusing, its one if those things that really isn't aimed just at childrenchildren, but I still don't get half of it!. My charges often question me as to why I'm laughing when they've got it on whilst I'm cooking dinner though!

Branleuse · 23/03/2015 10:35

love it

WeAreEternal · 23/03/2015 10:39

DS (8) loves adventure time.

It's not as odd as some of the other Cartoon Network program's, uncle grandpa and the regular show are both bizarre.

dreamingaboutcheese · 23/03/2015 10:44

Love Love Love it.

We have AT monopoly, a plush Jake the Dog, Jake tshirts and I often get the ending song stuck in my head when I'm at work.

Come along with me... lalalala. Dammit.

meowth · 23/03/2015 11:34

oh it's absolutely amazing! I love that and I love regular show! both great, but I am the only one in my family who likes it "you're too old to be watching cartoons they're for kids blah blah" while with OH's parents, they think those shows are great
it shows my family's lack of humour and fun.

Adventure time, come on grab your friends! Grin

ScaryMaryHinge · 23/03/2015 11:46

I love Adventure Time, it's really nothing like any other cartoon, Gumball doesn't compare in my opinion. Gumball, once you get past the odd visual style, is fairly average,. Adventure Time is wonderfully odd, often dream like in the best way and many episodes have more ideas and plot than many full length movies. It's also one of the very few (in fact I know of no others) cartoons that is hand drawn rather than CGI, and I think this adds to the overall feel of it. And it has a lot very interesting female characters, which is refreshing and unusual in a cartoon not specifically aimed at girls.

Hoppinggreen · 23/03/2015 11:53

Adventure Time is Brilliant!!
Me and DH have formulated a rather strange ( and possibly macabre) theory about it.
Finn and Jake were a real life boy and dog buddy duo but were knocked down by a car. jake died but Finn is in a coma and the adventures are his dreams. All the characters represent real people in Jakes life.
It makes sense, it all allegorical.
