Regifting dilemma

It was my birthday this week and my good friend has given me a lovely pewter picture frame...it's just that it has a "boy xy" repeat pattern on it. She recently had a baby boy, I don't have any children...

I am not in any way being ungrateful, it's a beautiful frame but I'm at a loss as to what to put in it! It's such an obvious regift...would I be unreasonable to enquire what the boy xy part means? Wink

Just think it coukf have been worse - could have been a breast pump! Grin

Just give it to charity. She's got baby brain and didn't notice.

Could sorry

I don't think I could resist saying something. Its something I would find funny rather than be irritated by. I wouldn't be angry or snippy but I would tease my friend about it.

Get a photo of you "cradling" a male relative and put that in it. Then put the frame somewhere really noticeable.

In a few months when the baby brain wears off she'll notice Grin

SisterMoonshine · 19/03/2015 20:47

When's her birthday? Wink

halfwayupthehill · 19/03/2015 20:49

Give it to a friend with a baby boy

CloserToFiftyThanTwenty · 19/03/2015 20:50

I often share a glass of wine with my best friend, and bought her a picture frame with some wine glasses on thinking it was cool/fun and perhaps she could put a picture of us both together in it. Turns out I had bought a frame traditionally given to someone turning 21 as they were champagne flutes on the frame and I'd missed the '21st birthday' sticker on the back. As I'd turned 21 that year, and she was just turning 22, she was a bit cat bum face and I couldn't work out why - she made a jokey comment and I realised she thought I'd regifted it from my own bday some months back!

Your friend has baby brain I think - I like pp suggestion of putting a really odd photo in there and leaving it somewhere noticeable in the house next time she's round Grin
