People that everyone knows on mumsnet. Do you remember posters names?

OP posts:
TiggyD · 19/03/2015 19:44

Don't keep changing your name every 5 minutes, keep posting bollocks, and stick around. You'll eventually become famous/infamous.

ILovePud · 19/03/2015 19:45

Why do people name change? I name change if I'm starting a thread looking for advice on something which would identify me to family members but I can't foresee changing my main user name. Just being nosey.

engeika · 19/03/2015 19:45

Worra who is always wise. fanjo and Dawn both v active when disability is discussed. ilovesooty - pigletjohn on the DIY property boards, some very sensible and well-informed MNers on the Scottish referendum debates last year. Mintyy and you ghosty

I like knowing people on here. My RL life friends are busy or boring!!

FuckItBucket · 19/03/2015 19:46

ILove because some posters get internet stalked by exs and their girlfriend

not bitter at all Grin

niceandwarm · 19/03/2015 19:48

I remember Xenia as well. I haven't been able to identify her name change, which is strange considering how opinionated she was as Xenia.

Mintyy · 19/03/2015 19:48

Tatty - that Pandorahaterz thread was a zombie thread, or do you mean she posted on it yesterday?

ILovePud · 19/03/2015 19:49

Yeah that's a good reason to change FuckitBucket, shitty that you had to though.

LikeIcan · 19/03/2015 19:49

It's nothing to do with how long you've been here or how often you post, you could have been a massive bore since 2003 posting everyday under the same name - or, you can be an overnight success entertaining people with your wit & charm. 'Fame' is not measured in time.

FuckItBucket · 19/03/2015 19:52

The only thing about name changing is people treat you differently. It's strange, I feel like I've just signed up

ShatnersBassoon · 19/03/2015 19:53

PigletJohn and squoosh ping my radar. That is a euphemism.

SwedishEdith · 19/03/2015 19:56

I don't really know why Xenia name changes - she posts about the same things all the time (which is not a criticism) that you can't not know it's her once you come across her.

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/03/2015 19:56

Oh yes, people treat you differently when you name change.

I've definitely noticed that.

Dowser · 19/03/2015 19:57

I'm fairly new on here. Well about 6 months so I don't recognise many names.

AnyFucker is a legend and cogitoergosometimes always seems to come out some sound and sensible advice in relationships.

Mrsjayy · 19/03/2015 20:00

I know a mumsnetter was stalked by her ex or somebody who knew her ex and was passing stories what a shifty thing to do.

Mrsjayy · 19/03/2015 20:02

sparklingbrook is a total ledge her random threads are great fun

I recognise lots of names on this thread.

Laurie I'm surprised you admitted to that! At least you'll never be bored if you're on your own Grin

I love all the ladies on the Tamoxigang thread

Grantaire · 19/03/2015 20:12

I find it weird namechanging. The anonymity is fab, the lack of recognition odd. I have namechanged hundreds of times but have a regular name too. Plenty of folk are MN famous. Cod, AF, Hecate, Mintyy, JudgeFlounce, Mitmoo, CVQ, FluffyMummikinsFuckingRandomNumbers. To name a few. Oh and Justine.

ILovePud · 19/03/2015 20:12

In what way do people treat you differently when you name change? Sorry to go off at a tangent this kind of thing intrigues me.

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/03/2015 20:14

Some names are more likeable, you can post pretty much the same, with one name you get slaughtered, with the other one you can get ways with it.

Kleptronic · 19/03/2015 20:19

I know lots of names. I've got a spreadsheet. Grin

ILovePud · 19/03/2015 20:22

Fascinating Ottilia it would never have occurred to me that someone's username made any difference to the responses. I was thinking more along lines of people being chummy with established posters and treating newbies as if they are outside of their clique. Note to self, potential future users names NelsonMandelaisace and Ilovemynan and I'll stop posting under badgerbaitingiscool, sorted!

Moresproutsplease · 19/03/2015 20:27

I namechange every so often because my children are adults and are ON HERE. If I was a prolific poster without NCing, I would out myself to them every day and I don't want them knowing those sorts of things about me.

It's different when your DCs are little ones.

OttiliaVonBCup · 19/03/2015 20:27

Try it Pud, my old name was more bland and I was getting a very different reaction to what I get now.

trufflesnout · 19/03/2015 20:27

sparklingbrook is a babe. tru fact.
